To risk sounding stupid

I tried last night to reinstall my old city oh heros cds, got upsdated, but no matter how hard I try I cant reactivate my account. Is the website down? New format? I cant get to any of the city of heros official North America websites.

    It hasn't worked since yesterday at 4 pm or so. The test server seems to be up, but none of the websites (it's 830 AM pacific) seem to be on. NC and Cryptic's sites show nothing about this. Maybe I need to move my temp files but I've been trying for a solid batch of time since crashing out of the server yesterday afternoon. :(



    I hope this weird occurrance doesn't stop you from re-entering the game!! This is the first time the site as well as the servers have all been down, in over 2 years of live play, so I would guess that this is due to the "stability" patch that went live about 24-36 hours ago... since that patch almost everything was wonky, bad lag and glitchy missions. I'm gonna try again but the site's not working for me even now.



    I was wondering if anyone had any official info on this, since the forums are unavailable. Hopefully a cache flush will help me.

    No it won't stop me from playing again if anything I want to get the Good Vs Evil pack and recruit the wifey to play. Its ironic after a year of no play the time I decide to try again the service is wonkey

    Are you going to the PlayNC.com website? I just logged into their site literally 1 minute ago and that's where I manage all of my Plaync accounts such as CoH/CoV and Guild Wars.

    No, the CityofHeroes.com, CityofVillains.com and Www.COH.com (from ncsoft's site) are all blank. PlayNC is also down, for me at least. I don't know why it's doing this - Where are you, what part of the world/country? I wonder if their west coast services are down? We've had bad storms and flooding, and it's possible that their stuff is off line, but only on one coast. How that would affect the playNC site I don't know but there's no connection for me and I'm in San Diego CA.

    I'm up in Seattle here so it's not West Coast related. It might be your ISP has a router down or something else along the line isn't letting you get into their site for some reason. Have you run spyware checks on your computer?

    I run firefox and have no spyware thankfully - but I did email a batch of people i know who play, and they 'have friends who have friends' who are having a similar problem. I am suspecting that it's southern CA that's having an issue. I tried the plaync, etc again, nothin.



    I'm on my laptop at work now, which is about 10 miles away from home, and no luck either. The site was cached but then when I hit refresh it came up with the same 'cannot connect'.



    If it was a forbidden error I'd be getting what, a 403? can't remember the exact 'you can't come here because your computer suxxorz' message is :)

    Its a conspriacy!  But its actually aimed at Anofayle who had the same problem, you are just colateral damage.

    It seems they do know about the problem  now.



    It appears to be random, worldwide, and not particularly based on any one service. (As there's me in CA, someone in TX and someone in Australia, I doubt very much we have the same internet service! :D )



    They are working on the problem, they finally do have an announcement on the tech forum so I've been told, so hopefully if you get to

    this page, by all means fill out your trouble ticket!! They need to know who's affected and what we have in common.
