[ Star Wars: The Force Unleased ]
Star Wars®: The Force Unleashed™ - The Next Great Chapter of the Star Wars Saga

The Star Wars saga continues this November in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which casts videogame players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

Just wondering who all will give this game ago it looks and sounds like fun. Of course I try all things Star Wars. Even though I hated SW Lego's I just hated it for some reason even though it got good reviews.

By the way has anyone played the new Star Wars game for the PSP? Just wondering as my PSP helps me pass time at work and was thinking of picking this up.

This is the game based on that tech demo that was running around last year or so.  If the tech demo was any indication of what the gameplay will be like it should be a fun and engaging romp.

Nope.  I haven't bought any Lucas Arts or Star Wars products since the NGE.

While its partly to punish LA for their role in the NGE, it also because I just can't enjoy anything Star Wars anymore.  The music, the sound effects, etc, all remind me SWG and how they ripped us off.

If it was a Wii game that revolved around light saber combat...then yes I would...unfortunately, it's not, so no.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

I'm still bitter about the LA/SoE stuff myself, but only partly because one day I was having fun, the next I wasn't.

    Oh wells!

I won't buy the game but chances are I'll end up playing it anyhow hehe, I just can't help it.

And yeah the music now is linked to SwG and not the whole story like it used to be (for me).

Yeah, i would play it, if i can get it. But if it were for the Wii with lightsaber duels like red Steel and stuff...then it would be awsome.

I dunno, maybe it's my age..

But redsteel makes me feel so weird playing it. It's like I gotta move around as if I am on a DDR pad.

The light saber thing would be ever weirder for me.

    I'm reserved I guess.

Like some said. I am very sceptical against LA nowadays. What they did was unforgiveable. I have no hype for future Star Wars games anymore...

The only thing that looks promising so far is a mod for Battlefield 2142 that makes it Star Wars. Even that looks way better than the original Star Wars Battlefront games which were completely console damaged for PC....

Anyway, the BF2142 MOD: WATCH IT HERE

I'm done watching for these mods, first off they never get past "Beta with 6 friends and a hampster".

They were doing this for BF1942, gave up... moved to vietnam....gave up...went to BF2....moved to BF2142...

These guys won't release crap because they have A.D.D on the stuff.

You know they could of stuck with BF2 perfectly fine, it's the same engine minus two or three shaders and the UI.

    -----------------

Anyhow I still play Battlefront II from time to time, just for the space fights.

Ground battling comes down to mines or shotguns.

    Lamest combat ever.

Hmm Northern Strike and Desert Combat together almost beat the original 1942 in players alltogether. I played Desert Combat as my main game when it came out because it purely felt nicer and more menacing than the original. Faster too. IMO Desert Combat is way better than BF2. IMO BF2 is a "hotted" up version of Desert Combat.

While I don't play it nowadays I've just moved on to BF2142 because it's newer and has theese unlocks and the system that tracks how you progress through the game. I don't understand what happened to the whole epicness of BF2142. By time more and more content just vanish. Whatever happened to naval combat? And why does the planes suck more and more the games goes? Well well who knows.

Just for some more info.. L.A. should be using their Euphoria engine with this game... It is a sight to behold.... You should type in Lucas Arts Euphoria in Google video or youtube and be amazed...

I'll give you a little snipit... Euphoria for bodies can almost dynamically create animation depending on skeletal structure and other characteristics.....

That means the evolution of Ragdoll physics.... No longer will a baddie get shot and his hands will fling wildly all over the place... This makes body parts flow almost with intention...  I'll just post one of the older vids but i emplore you to check some more..

I'm pissed about SWG as well, but I'm planning on buying it anyway. I don't blame LA nearly as much as I blame SOE, they just said "Do something" and "Do it fast". SOE screwed it.

    Back on topic,

If this game turns out anything like its supposed to with all the physics and AI, its going to be great, as long as its more than a tech demo. It better have good gameplay, or watching the corpses fly around will only work so long as a novelty.

Still, as long as its not rushed, it'll probably be good.
