Can I be an archer and a mage?

Can I be an archer and a mage? I know that archers use dex. What does having high dex do for an archer? Make him shoot faster?

If that is all it does then I think i'm going to go for it.

    howdy, Yes,  Dex is what affects how fast your archer will draw back the bow for another shot. all you need to make a mage/archer is a good spell-channeling bow or crossbow (for PvP if your lucky a heavy crossbow with high SSI and a spell damage mod for the dismount option special move). this is one of the more popular PvP templates running around at the Yew gate taking pot shots at the passers by a good  set up for stas on a mage/archer is 110/60/60,higher Int (as much as your stat scroll allows)  or whatever you feel comfortable with for a mana count. If all you want is to be able to pop off the odd arrow or bolt to supplement your magery i'd suggest  110/40/80 or something in that ballpark. Hope this helps a lil !

    Not sure if you're gonna use healing in your archer/mage template but dex does affect how long it takes to apply a bandage also.
