Easy games are for people that like easy games. Hard games are for people who like hard games.

People have their opinions, and there are a lot of people who like to get things easy, and there is nothing wrong with that.

By reading about Vanguard, you should know that it is a tough game and it is not easy leveling. If you don't like this, don't buy the game. Sigil is well aware that it isn't the game for everyone.

I mean what do you want them to do...make it ieasier and easier until it becomes EQ2 or WoW....and then people can start screaming that they copied WoW or EQ2??

They are trying to give people another option.

Why do people feel they need to post about why people post why they are leaving? lol. People post to express their opinion...generate conversation...etc.

And on another note, I think people are complaining less about how "difficult" the game is and more about how poorly put together it is. I agree with alot of people here I didn't feel like I actually had a purpose in the game-world. There's no overarching plot. It's just running from one place to another doing unimaginative fed-ex quests and kill x number quests with no variation except the monsters and scenery. It just felt pointless because I had no real story to follow. Although I soloed most of the time I did join in groups but still didn't enjoy it; the entire game just lacks fun factor.

Friends and guilds.  This is how MMO works.

If you aren't part of a guild or don't have online friends, no MMO will keep you happy.  Maybe a solo oriented one (like wow) will, but you will never experience the end game.

If I wanted to, i could create an account, have some chinese farmer level me to end game and buy 100 gold for real money , how easy is that ? That is huge reason I stay away from "hardcore" game now , because it is a huge joke.

It blows my mind , it really does  on how you beleive this is the what pinnacle gaming is.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can get powerleveled in any game....that isn't even a good arguement.

I didn't say this was the end-all be-all game did I? I said it was a game for people that like a challenge. If you don't like it there are other options. Yes, I do like Vanguard, yes I do like the difficulty in leveling. I am not telling you to agree with me, I am telling you my opinion.

I think LotR is waiting for you

Think about it....it is stupid to post that you are leaving a game if you are really leaving. I mean who cares? The person prob won't even be back to read the thread.

If you just did quests in VG, I would imagine it would be boring at some times. Why do you need the game to tell you what your purpose is...

I have had some really fun times in some of the really cool dungeons, but see...you won't see that if you don't join groups and go to the fun parts. Yes, it is boring running around soloing stupid quests...and it is boring in every game, not just VG.

Do something different. Go out and try to conquer a dungeon instead of handing in your orders from some random npc. Try deleting all your quests and go have some fun playing the game!

I like quests fine, but I am not always trying to work on a quest when I am online. This seems to be a mentality that you need a quest or else you have no clue what to do. Is this from WoW? Do they always have you on a quest or something?

This game is definately not for everyone, but then again Sigil has said that from the start.

It is also not finished, though Sigil has said that also.

This game is basedon 20% solo, 20% raid, and 60% group, they said this too.

It was said that they would be going for the "core" player, with some aspects of the game appealing to some of the hard core players and some of the soloists out there.

The thing that makes this game for a lot of people is the community.  You either get involved, play nice or you simply don't go anywhere.  Quests are there, but they don't take to you each and every spot on the map like some other games.  This game requires a bit of adventure on your part.  Death hurts more.  Crafting is more complicated, but also more rewarding.  Diplomacy is outright fun and can shake things up a bit when you've had enough of fighting or crafting.

This game, despite it's flaws, is probably the most fun and rewarding I've played in some time now.  I'm willing to look past it's flaws, because I know that Sigil is working on them.  They've been good so far, patching and fixing, posting the changes as they happen and actually listening to the community.  I've interacted on a live basis with more GM's and CSR staff in this game in the past 30 days than I have with most other games in the past 2 years.

I find that by Sigil doing what was done in EQ, namely allowing the community to police itself to a certain degree, you tend not to get as many undesirables acting up, ruining the game for everyone.  Those that do are generally dealt with swiftly and are often ostracized to the point of having to quit simply because nobody will play with them.

To those that are not having fun, I'm not going to flame you.  This game is not for everyone.  Thanks for trying it, and I hope you come back later when things get sorted out and the communities on the various servers get more established.

One of these days, a game will come out that will have something for everybody.  Everyone won't be able to do everything, but everyone will be able to do something.  This game comes close in a lot of areas.  It's not perfect, but it's a great fit for me.  I'd be nieve in thinking that this game will never be replaced, however I'm pretty confident that it will be around for a long time to come given the depth of the lore, the size of the game play area and the content that currently exists ingame with more and more being released on a weekly or even sometimes daily basis.

Overall, this game is what a lot of players have been waiting for.  I suspect after the first six months, you'll see more and more people playing, though at 100+k users after the first 30 days, it's doing quite nicely.

Deciding that VG just wasn't for me I took the last option yesterday.  Good luck to everyone else....VG offers much to the right sort of player....
I'm just not the right sort......
I'm astonished! That was the most intelligent and well-put "I dislike Vanguard" post I've yet to see. No sarcasm, I really mean it. Usually it's "VANGUARD IS TEH SUXXORZ!" or "SIGIL/SONY IS SATAN" or something equally as mindless. You're the first I can say I'm sorry you wont be sticking around to.

Funny the OP mentions leaving Vanguard for CoH/CoV, I left CoH/CoV for Vanguard. Dont get me wrong, I like CoH/CoV...well, CoH at least, never could get into any of the CoV archetypes (in fact I played nothing but scrappers in CoH). I just cant stand playing it for more than a few months at a time becaue, well, of how repetative it is. Vanguard's kept me busy, though, so far. My time ingame is split between adventuring and crafting. If you want to know why I like crafting...so do I. It is tedious, sometimes even frustrating, but then it's also relaxing at times too. In any case, I find msyelf inexplicably drawn to it.

Anyway, as Kyleran implied, it's not for everyone. What I dont understand is why more people cant just simply put the game down and move on if they dislike it. So many immature idiots have to go out of their way to try and hurt the game's popularity, deter people from even trying it for themselves, and outright badmouth the people who enjoy it. Not naming anyone in particular, just what I've seen in general. Granted, it does go both ways with all the "Go back to WoW" crap I hear, which I also dont condone, but as per my personal experience, the majority has been from the haters who feel discontent with simply disliking the game themselves, and that they have to try and force other people to hate it as well.

I use to support this game untill today.  I logged in and my characters have different armor and looks again.  I thought they fixed this bug in the past.  Does not matter anymore.  I am quiting the game.  I can't stand it anymore.  I hate it.  What a POS.

Good luck to you guys that stay around.  I know at some point the game will be good but I don't have the time to wait for it.

I feel same way, some state their reasoning pretty eloquently hehe.

This game is no fun, it is a Grind game that is really boring. It is tolerable for a week or so. It is the same thing over and over.

Just a shame a lot payed a lot of money for it before they found out.
