WoW's so called inovations are going to be its downfall. No KSing is such a horible idea, here's why.
1. u need is a high lvl friend
2. u have him take u out to a high lvl hunting area
3. u hit a high lvl monster once
4. u have him kill the monster
6. Voila u get all the xp and he gets none and ur lvl 50 in 2 weeks.
How craptastic is that? That game is gonna be exploited so bad and maxed out in weeks. Go WoW Go

Umm, MANY other games have done the no KSing thing, and truthfully, that is one of the better idea's I've seen. Trust me, play some Korean MMORPG's and you will find out why :P.

If that's how it works then there's certainly a flaw in it, but first where would you get a high level friend? When the game comes out, everyone's going to be the same level. That plan wouldn't work...at least for a while. Once the game's been out for a while then, yeah, it'd probably be exploited badly. There's probably a better way to orchestrate the prevention of KSing. Just off the top of my head here's my idea: it's the same plan except that the person who attacked it first has to take off maybe 30-40% of the monster's hp before it can be considered their kill. This would make it so the lower level character would still have to earn his xp by taking a longer time to get the 30-40% off and would prevent (to a degree) the KSing of those annoying high lvl characters.
I also thought about another flaw in that aspect of WoW. Someone could just go around hitting all the monsters in a specific area only once. Then when they regenerate and others come along and kill a monster then that xp wouldn't go to them but to the guy who was "grazing" off of every monster in the area. That would be a major flaw unless it involved timing as well.

Well, if the monsters are so much higher level-wise than your character; your little guy will die preety fast. I'm sure blizzard will have a timer on the first hit thing. Worse if the monsters are aggro-mob.

Please don't compare WoW to Horizons. Horizons ranks as one of the most tedious shallow games I have ever have the misfortune of playing. If your a dragon you can't help but to attack high level mobs because when I was playing the quests where unbalanced and at level 40+ they had you killing level 55 Ogres. Don't get me started on the werewolves.
Well if thats how the current code works, ill nearly garuntee they change it. If thats the case yes it would ruin the game but im sure they will put some anti power level code in there so if a high level player hits the mob iether A) he gets the exp or the exp is negated so there would be none.
Im sure they will fix this if this is how it currently works. because it would be retarded if it worked this way. newbies join the game 3 months after release and hit level 50 in 2 weeks they quit the game.

If anyone here is playing beta please inform us on how this is currently being handled. I honestly dont like people sitting around talking about ideas on how certain things work when they ca not go find out. Makes things seem worse then they are!
Please, beta players save us!

As of right now, you tap a mob and make it yours. If someone near your level helps, you get FULL xp. (They get nothing unless they are in your group.) If a high-level helps, you get "reduced" xp. They have said there will be a timer on the tapping part to keep people from running around 'claiming' mobs and fighting at their leisure.
Blizzard will fix this, keep in mind, im sure you've heard this a million times, "Its BETA, the purpose is to iron out problems like these". lol
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
