I can download pretty much anything, but I'm strapped for cash.
If I could find a game me and my friends could play during the summer nights, that'd be awesome.
Something with a good character customizing thing is definetly a plus, nothing like Runescape...
So, can you guys help me out?
Edit: Ok, just saw that list up there...
Still though, if you could respond with your personal favs, it'd save me a lot of trial and error time. Thanks much.

Guild Wars is the way to go.
It's not been released yet though. within the year it will be.
GW wont be totally free i cant imaging. The game just seems too good for that. Also there is a fee to purchase the game, which i think is what lee is trying to avoid.
As for which free game is best i dont know cos i havent played any of them, though i think it was AO that has a trial for $4.99 which is more or less free in my eyes and thats meant to be quite good.
3 stars sucks i want my 5 stars back!
MUAHAHAHAHAHA
I am playing SecondLife, which is kinda free if you don't buy land (7 day free trial, then 10$ lifetime membership without monthly fees).
It is not a normal RPG though, no monsters to kill, but rather a metaverse where you can build, design, explore, roleplay, socialize and interact with other people in any way you like (including adult ways). The "design" aspect is very interesting. You create your own things and animate them, just as if you were a content creator, artist or programmer. The fun thing is that players create what players like, so you always find some big surprises when you explore ;-)
So for me this is the best (almost) free game. Actually I am not short of money and spent a lot recently on other games but they bored me because I felt they all offered the same boring leveling threadmill.
Planescape might be a nice traditional MMORPG when done, but I feel it will still take a long time, maybe a year or more to call it semi complete...
If you sign up to SecondLife entering "Anshe Chung" as referal adds you to my in game friendslist :-)
