FFXI on Vista

in Final Fantasy XI
I am currently on a computer supporting windows vista and am unable to load playonline.  I have heard that ffxi doesn't run on vista, but my question is does anyone know when something will comeout to make this possible.  Any information will be helpful, thanks.

    I heard that you need to buy a new copy of the game.  The newer copies have software on them that support Vista.

    There was something about this just before christmas, i think, on playonline.com. The news article at that time said that FFXI would not run on Vista, and that SE was aware of the problem and was trying to find a solution together with Microsoft.

    I just did a Vista search on playonline (both EU and US), and got no results at all.

    FFXI probably won't ever be playable on Vista, though there have been rumblings in the community that there might be a way around it. Nothing concrete as of yet.



    If you're looking to play a Squenix MMO on Vista, you're going to have to wait until their next MMO comes out, which is being designed specifically for Vista. No official news on what it will be about, whether it will be FF based, or anything, just that the next MMO project they're working on is specifically for Vista.
