I remember! My first few days of AC.

I guess it was back in 1999 when I first got this awsome pullout about AC from pcgamer. I was instantly in love and begged my madre for her to buy it for me(was 11 I think) and I was in love from first login(shitload of white n all). I really dont know there was something about the visuals the sound, the exploring , and it was just fun! I cannot say I played long maybe several months but there was nothing like hunting on the beach where the house was and wham out of nowhere a reef shark would jump in and start recking people! ahhh so fun! Srry for all the rambling much <3

yah the old days had their charm.....personally i wish they could create a new server and give out only say 500 passes to make a new char on it that way it wouldnt be overcrowded (of course 1 for me). Anyways yah its great =P

eastham beach was an mmo dreamland

just so fun it was, whenever the reefs would come chasing - my newb char would run back into the eastham life house..

others hunted the mayoi beach too i think it was but eastham was where everybody had memories

The first night I bought the game, it was my first MMO..me and four others ranging from level 1 to 5 took the trip from holt to crag on the road and it took us around 3 hours to complete...we just kept dying by drudges, and shreths...it was a great adventure!

Mosswort fort in Hebian...Mite Prison in Glenden Wood...Fort Tethana...Arwic Mountain Pass and the Olthoi Dungeon on that hill...great times...AC FTW

mossy fort was the shit...i also remember when subway was the absolute place to be, and all the drama from PVP (on PVE servers).  Mayoi beach was where a lot of my memories were.  Lugian Citadel near Qal'abar(sp) was always fun....good times

OH yes the good old days of AC i remember playing long hours on my rouge and mage and loving the good old guild buff bot.  How the PVP was absolutly beatiful.  I for one say that any pvp game should have the exact same system as what AC has.  if they did that I think alot of the new pvp games would be alot more popular.

I remember my first golem kill on Mud Golem Hill near Holtberg. It took many tries, as it was just myself and a friend with no buffs, but much fun. It was one of my first experiences in an MMORPG that I'll never forget.

I also remember a few days later at the lake, a "high level" (he was mid 70's, seemed a god to me at that time) named Shepherd of the Night gave me a 250 skill sword. It was a major accomplishment to me to finally reach the point to where I could use it. Even though my sword character is 91, I still keep that sword hung proudly in my cottage.

I REALLY wish Turbine would update or rebuild AC, or even make an AC 1.5. I go back now and there's almost no one there. I had the time of my life in AC, but only when there were friends around to share the moment.

The one thing i can still remember about AC and to this day still don't think can be beat, are the sounds of AC. the sound of portalling or someone buffing themselves. The sound of incinerating a drudge :) or the sound of someone dying and reading the embarrasing defeat message when standing near a lifestone..

     Those were the days

I remember hunting Mosswart Fort too :) Perching on the walls since I was mage and there was that mage tower nearby. I think I used to run to town though to save money.

After that I think I moved to crater caves. I used to love hunting that place. Of course I couldn't venture into the lower parts since it was full of big bad Magma Golem's. The only way I could survive down there was hiding behind walls and draining, which wasn't very efficient.

Then I moved to BSD. That wasn't too fun. It was too packed, but the xp was good. I remember going outside was an adventure. OP was scary. I remember attacking monsters then having to run through the BSD portal to get away or sometimes I'd venture too far out to a SIK chest.

Also I remember one day someone summoned a Black Hill portal that I took by accident. I was so impressed. There were a bunch of "high levels" buffing and casting level 6's! I had no idea where I was and one of them summoned me a portal back to civilization.

I remember those days. Great times weren't they? Isn't strange how the things we thought were great fun back in the beginning of MMO's have been stripped out? Its not about the "experience" or "adventure" anymore, they are solely about the the leveling. Kill task and level specific zones, being NPC deployed drones for rat tails and delivering mail and linear junk like that.

I guess thats why so many of us older MMOers are jaded.

Who can forget the Lugian citadel back in the day?????

It was my 3th mmo after 10Six and Mankind. I started in 2000 i believe.

I used to play in the lugian citadels if i remember well. There where 2 of them. My gymped char (i didnt know) had almost no melee defense and a spear. His name was 'myassisonfire'...had to run off the fight many times. I was able to use this name because an GM i spoke allowed me. He died accidently by my hand when i sended him to Walhalla (wow 'delete').

Anyway. I created another char with a sword named 'Trojanhorse' (also gymped at lvl 50). Trojanhorse became later a lvl 116 xbower because he served me well as mule. You could also find him on the catwalk when he was showing new released armor (no he wasn't gay...more a macho man like).

After that era i gave birth to my best char 'Sandokhan'. An 3 school sword/melee spec char. I left this world after his 146th level. He was an awesome basejumper. Any jump couldn't kill him except the big mountain in the dires with a portal on the top.

He always came back home with a lot of salvage. Our guildleader in function 'Agnar' had a char(s) that had the better imbue skills on the server and that brougth me nice pimped armor or weapons.

    End of part I

...i still remember beta 2 with the introduction of the dires and fort Teth.. the 1st group into the "forbidden land" i believe it was a random group..we had to thread our way through the lighthouse with high level tumies we made it out with no DCs a miricle at that point, we got out and ran as fast as we could to the fort....3 ppl bit the dust on the way due to golden wasps "mega-xp" heh, the sheer thrill and adreneline surge was memorable to say the least.  I remember when u could loot any body of anyone...and i remeber the fights. I remember the researching of spells and finding some that nobody in-game had.. ah well.. I played for a few more years and loved AC. i have played many other games but have yet to find the sheer joy and addictivness of AC anywhere else.

SWG, Eve, CoH & CoV, EQ, 9dragons, and many more... but none have given the joy that i had in AC ah well thnx for letting me fall into reverie take care all

I'm still waiting for the mmo to top AC, it was one of the best gaming experiences of my life.  I totally agree with the person who commented on the sounds too...the sounds of AC were awesome for some strange reason.  There was a feeling to AC and even though I played WoW longer, I never even got close to the feeling of AC.  I think because of its originality it added a lot.  That's what I'm hoping TCOS will do for me, its got the originality of AC with new features.  Man...I miss AC :(
