You know I do appreciate the humor in this, but in humor there is always truth.
I thought about your artical some at work today, the "form letter" approach to an MMOg critique, and wondered if indeed you (and others) do some of this. In fact Game developers have shown quite a talent in this respect, if you look at MMOg's the same way as articals... Fill in the blank quests, level zones, Mob Drops, rescource gathering, the whole game...
I guess what you are saying, is this is work... writing articals. That a creative approach is not neccesary because all you are required to do is paste up "something" now and then to keep us occupied and involved by reading and disecting your commentary.
So when is the next expansion due out? next week sometime?
No more Trivial MMO's, let's get serious "again". Make a world, not a game What I listen to

Can't we all just get along? Have some fun maybe? We could play tiddlywinks. That's fun.
Oh cool, really? Where can I Download that? Is there a patch? It's a new Online Game! Neat! Massive Multi player Online Play School Game! (MMOPSG) (Ok yea, I know, that joke is old heh heh heh heh...)
Too long. The average reader interest is 1 line; 2 if you're in a lucky day.
You must simply encourage the players to pick any aspect of the game and developp it, while allowing them to discard any other aspect they dislike. For example, someone like me, you just make sure I don't have to raid at any moment for non-raiding progression. Some PvPers would have other tastes, but the same truth holds for them as well, with PvP-activities. See, devs tend to try to enforce everything, they work hard and want the players who play it all to be better, this is extremely selfish and self-centered. They must learn to accept that players may like 10% of their work and despite 90% of it, you really have to be able to allow them to focus on this 10% and love it.

Thank you for a good honest opinion! Now go and spread the word!
Haha. What a great article. You managed to insult yourself and your readers/commenters equally. You shouldn't be so negative.
My favorite part of this article is that you can fill in the blanks and it will be applicable, but that's not really the point. The real point is that when an article is written to address a particular issue, not only is the formula the same, but the responses to it are the same. You have the extremes on both sides that are never happy and always complaining, and the majority in between that really want some varying degree of compromise.
Maybe if you change the formula to the article, the responses will change as well.

Nicely written, but Dan did a bad job of hiding the fact that he couldn't think of anything to write about.
