Sorry if this has been posted...

Seems there will be a Collectors Edition to LOTR. I looked on Gamestop.com and found a link but it has no picture and no details. For sale for 59.99.

If you go to www.gogamer.com it is on the front page. Clicking the link it provides the collectors edition details...

    Nope you would have to go in and cancel the current pre-order then upgrade to the collectors edition of LOTR. As of now Gamestop is not taking pre-orders on the collectors edition in stores.

    I wondered what that was about, I went into my local (Canadian) eb games and threw down some $ on preorder (no boxes in yet though)...

    She told me they had two listed, oe for 49.99 and one for 69.99 (or maybe 59.99 and 69.99)  anyway I put my money on the expensive one just in case.

    Collectors Edition (Europe) also contains all the features of the Special Edition (Europe).

    I don't think we get the soundtrack though :( and all we get is that range of cloaks, I don't know what that Glass of Aglaral is but it sounds different at least. The making of DVD does have bonus art galleries and stuff too, I just didn't mention them in my previous post because they're fairly typical on the bonus DVDs. Checking the gogamer site, it does say you get a cloak of regen too, and 2 DVD's for the game client might be mistakenly referencing the bonus DVD. Box as well for the Special Edition in Europe is likely to be the same... so I'm guessing Americans get the Soundtrack, Europeans get the 'mithril' (ie, probably pewter or tin) figurine. Buddy passes are quite common, and the american listing doesn't mention free subscription time at all, so that could be extra as well....

     

    So, american Collectors looks to be pretty much the same as the European, with the soundtrack / figure being the difference (though they might have both, who knows, wishful thinking on my behalf).

    Where does it say the collecter edition features the same items as the special edition. cant see it on the codies site, if this is so I will go for the ce if not the special edition for me(want that book)

    Its in one of the sticky'd posts on the official forums. I didn't know it at first either (I only knew about the options page, but found it when I looked around later, so yeh, I can confirm that the collectors edition is to include the special edition's contents.

    Well I cancelled my pre-order for the standard LOTR and had to repurchase the collectors edition. Not a fan of how Turbine did this. If I remember right Vanguard put the word out early about a collectors edition. I did not think there was going to be a LOTR Collectors Edition and they quietly release it for pre-order. It is not even mentioned on the official page that I can see.

    Anyhow looking forward to getting this thing released!
