My friend has a Mac, a fairly new one. Would she be able to install and play City of Heroes on it? I'm not at all versed in Mac stuff, which is why I'm asking.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the answer to your question is no. This question was brought up many times to Cryptic, and it was stated very simply that they needed tio make a choice between one of the other (they didn't have the resorces for both) so they desided to go with the more dominate and common OS/system on the market (that being Windows pc based)
It has been asked of Cryptic if they do ever plan a MAC port of the game. The sound of chripping crikets was louder then thier responce. But don't think ill of Cryptic for this; for if you check you will find very few good games MMORPG or otherwise designed for the MAC.

actually you are way off the mark:). i own a 24" iMAC, and i run windows perfectly on bootcamp. im currently playing vanguard, i have eq2 and swg installed and both run perfectly at full graphic settings to the max...(of course vanguard not so much >_<). but anyways, the answer is absolutely she can play city of heroes...or any other windows game for that matter. (just got supreme commander and it screams) all u need is a full copy of windows xp or vista with serice pack 2 or higher and bootcamp, which is a free downloadable app directly from apple.com.. and to save the possiblity of it being a problem upon install, a generic non apple keyboard JUST for the installation of windows. once the mac drivers are installed everything runs as perfectly as can be:) go apple.
by the way i just noticed the word 'fairly" b4 new...lol...one big thing...it has to be the intel core 2 duo chip that is installed on all new macs...so if fairly means a year...shes out of luck:( LOL

Yes, absolutely true. All new Macs are intel based now, so they will all run Windows using bootcamp from www.apple.com. Enjoy!
