They probably did it to slow down all the mails from Mains to alts but it hurts those players trying to help out other players.

I normally give a lot of my stuff away to guildfriends or people in OOC if i can't use it myself.

Then i just mail it to them for free when i get back to town.

    That's over now i guess.

I never thought we would see a nerf for players trying to help out other players.

    :(

It is a pain that it costs more for mailing, but remember.. it's probably due to keeping the economy in check.  You have to admit, money was a bit too easy to come by.  I've always had more than enough money to repair and purchase almost anything I wanted or needed at my level and then some.

You can always ask people to help cover the cost of mailing by paying half.. or even just arranging a time to meet and trade it.

If it's too much of an increase, there's still time for them to change it before launch.

they already have stated by Avon on the forums

here the quote "The mail tax is a new change and as with all new changes it will be evaluated and updated as needed. I don't what it will have a huge impact on crafters or your casual sender-of-items. I think it will mostly affect those who mail large quantities of rare items to their mules.

I can tell you right now that the 20% tax has already been reduced for a later patch:

10% for common items and 20% for uncommon/rare items.

I welcome all feedback on this topic in the Items & Treasure forum, where I visit most often.

We've added support for the Logitech G15's LCD panel. When you're in character generation and selection, you'll see the name of the game. Once you've logged in, we show your morale (numbers and progress bar) your mood (number) your power (numbers and progress bar) and the landscape area you’re in. Nifty!

This is very very cool. It works very well on my G15 keyboard. I should take a picture of it in action. Thank you Turbine for adding this little feature. This keyboard is awesome. Just wish they would update the drivers for Vista, which they are suppose to be doing.

-- Rewrote the way all static content (buildings, trees, etc.) gets managed on the client. This should significantly improve client performance.

They seem to have done a really good job with this.  After the patch I was able to move up to the ultra high graphic settings with no problem.  Good job Turbine!

If you could see the beta forums today you might sing a different toon about this patch. You can sum it up with one word. (NERF) I myself like that they have gone the route of making the game harder and more of a challenge. With only a little over a month to go until this game goes live it does seem a bit extreme to make these changes now though.

This is BETA, expect sweeping changes.  That's what beta testing is for.  Turbine is doing a fantastic job at taking care of major changes before the game is launched.

I'd much rather have balance issues taken care of BEFORE the game launches instead of the typical industry standard of waiting until months after release when all of a sudden you're playing a different character than the one you started playing at launch.

Its Beta? Thanks for the insight for I wouldn't have figured that one out on my own. As for the sweeping changes I did point out that I liked them. I'm just a bit surprised that they would make such extreme changes at this time with launch right around the corner.

Better now than when the game goes live. Thats what beta is for - adjustments and tweaking. Many people were complaining that LotRO was too easy, and I like the changes. It will make the game more challenging.

    Elladan - ESO (AD)
    Camring - SWTOR (Ebon Hawk)
Eol & Justinian - Rift (Faeblight)
Ceol and Duri - LotRO (Landroval)
    Kili - WoW
    Eol - Lineage 2
    Camring - SWG
    Justinian (Nimue), Camring - DAoC

Sweeping changes in a beta this late in the game show lack of forethought and are more risky than anything.  This patch is anything but popular and have a lot of players getting nervous that we might be looking at another Vanguard.  I don't think it will ever get THAT bad but they need to roll back some of the player nerfs and tweak back up the income ratios.

And sweeping changes are what killed Vanguard (and yes Vanguard is most certainly dead).

Some reason we had a small group of disgruntled players , but great community support with straight talk from the Dev's helped a lot of folks get through it.

OK, I'm not sure what "bad" was suppost to have happened in the last patch. I skimmed the patch notes mind filling me in Mars?

My toons isn't behaving any differently. I'm only playing a Elf Hunter right now level 15 because I'm waiting for open beta before I hit it hard. I have only been dabbling in the game the past few weeks, I've been in EVE and GE most of my MMO time lately.

Turbine does make me nervous. I can see them easily snatching a defeat from the jaws of victory. They have FUBAR every other game they have put out.

There was a steep 20% in mailing , as well as some farming issues and repair cost issues. Most of the skills tables and stuff went over pretty well , well except for jackdog LOL , but the biggest gripes where on the money tables and gains over costs .

hey gotta call em like I see em, gotta admit though post hotfix I am pretty pleased. If it is bullshit I will call it bullshit,.There was a hell of a lot more changes in that hotfix than what they posted in  the notes. A lot of stealth de-nerfs My lvl 13 minstril went from an unplayable wimp back to pretty much  to his normal arse kicking self. I notice the lore masters board calmed down also. Things that make you go hmmmmm. A lot of the changes were needed , they just went way too far with some of them. Thank god they listened to the players and backed off.

There ae still tweaks that need to be made but that is normal and they can take their time fine tuning now thwey have got things back to a playable level. I still think the repair costs are a bit high, and the postman is a frigging crook but I can live with that.

    I miss DAoC

Lord, you don't know what money issues are in an MMO until you played L2. Warsmith for the win. I think a retarded houseplant could be rich in about a week in any western designed game. /shrug, thats just me. I boggles the mind that anyone, I mean anyone would need to buy gold in WoW....I was frickin drowning in gold in that stupid game. The devs may was well just handed it to you it was that easy to make. Since the LotRs economy is set up along the lines of the WoW system, should be the same story. By the way, calling what WoW has an "economy" is just silly. There is no "economy".

Well........you know thats just my opinion and I am often wrong. You will notice that the largest RMT market in the industry is WoW so there a lot of people who are NOT on par with the retard houseplant. In fact many guilds in WoW are in fact led by retarded houseplants. Go figure. I'm sure it all ties into that Roswell thing.

Just looking at the dev tracker posts on the beta boards it seems they realize there is a money issue that slaps you up beside the head around level 10 now and I expect further hotfixes/patches  this week.

I really don't know why they even bother trying to have economies in MMOS. In SWG a month after release I had several million credits in the bank. In EQII I was making several gold a night with a lvl 20 farming crafting resources. There is always a work around if you use your head. Speaking of which I need to go farm some ....... heh heh...nevermind in LoTRO.

    I miss DAoC

What would be really nice is if they'd just let it go and let it run. They'll never really be able to control it in any event. Hopefully they won't be screwing around with it after launch.

SWG's economy was ruined because of the missions.

I could make about 350,000 credit Pr hour doing missions with my overpowereed Creature handler/Pistoleer.

I gave away free houses for fun :)

Anyone want to buy my old Creature handler with a lot of rare exstinct tamed creatures ;)
