Very Impressed

Hello all,

I must say I am very impressed with the way Turbine is handeling this game. After reading the newest patch notes and my jaw dropping at the size of this patch, even though almost everyone was saying how polished the game already is, was just amazing to me. This is something that needed to be seen in a gaming industry that seems to put out products un-finished and say we will get it fixed in time. Turbine seems to be setting new standards as far as getting a game ready before release and to me this will be greatly rewarded as soon as the game hits release.

I havent even seen the game yet, other then screenshots and such, but just seeing how Turbine is handeling this game has given me new hope in the gaming world that maybe a company is starting to realize just where their paycheck's will come from. I will definately be putting Turbine higher on my list for games in the future, but for now they have already won my lifetime subscription to LOTR.

Keep up the great work Turbine, you definately have a winner on your hands with LOTR and I cant wait till the 30th of March to immerse myself in the next great game!

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

I'm impressed too. Glad to see them turn it all around... Historically, AC1 was a great game. AC2 could have been, but just had that bad launch it never got over. I still think if they would turn on AC2 right now, many would go back and play it. Turning off AC2 was a bad move that has cost them PR points imo. Then they follow that with DDO... too instanced, too group-oriented, too-small. This was there last shot I thouhgt... and looks to me like they are coming thru.

I have to wander if maybe those Turbine execs, instead of thinking small, have just spent the last few years staring at the insane profit that WoW has been generating, and started saying to themselves: "HEY, you know, this MMO thing really can generate some coin, IF you give players that immersive feeling, IF you come out with a game that is BUG-FREE and CLEAN, get a good release, some good press.... population growth feeding more population growth... maybe we should do one right?".....   I think they are; and it's great to see.

I totally agree which is one reason I am so impressed. I played DDO when it first came out and was not happy with the game at all, which is one reason I backed away from Turbine. I never played AC2 because of all the things I was reading even though it was shocking considering my sister plays AC1 and loves it.

It is good to see that a company has learned from previous mistakes and hopefully they keep up the great work they have done so far with LOTR.

Yeah, and makes me look forward to constant content updates they will likely be pushing out regularly. I just hope they can cope with it!
