Explain how a game has the same rights as people do again?

So a poster got banned because he criticised the game, and the rule stated that a game was to be treated the same way as a poster?
The game has "rights" and "feelings" that need to be protected?
Have we just stepped through the looking glass, or are the game companies pressuring you to cut down on the bad press? Are our opinions now requiring footnoted explanations on why we believe, say SWG now sucks?
A bibliography maybe?

When I got banned last week for a thread I started back in October (and hadn't posted in since October), my note said 'you can say game x sucks because...'. Since we now have to treat games like posters, does this mean we can now say 'poster x sucks because....'?
Saying things suck may skew what someone considers the truth (snicker). Buyers may become “informed” and titles may flop. Then again MMORPG.com isn't the only place to find so called definitive information (negative or positive) on SWG.
We hold these Truths to be self evident:
That all Games are created Equal.
That they are endowed by their Developers with certain undeniable bugs.
That to make money despite these bugs, a subscriber base is deceived amongst men.
That whenever any form of player causes trouble for these Games, it is the right of the developers to alter or abolish the Game, and to institute a New Iconic and "Star Warsy" Experience, laying its foundations on such principles, and organizing its User Interface in such form, as to the developers shall seem the mostly likely to increase player base population.
Prudence, indeed, dictates, that Game Systems long established should not be replaced for Light or Transient Causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that Developers are more disposed to suffer, while cancellations are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Game Systems to which the players are accustomed. But when a new and better-made game arrives on the scene (WOW), pursuing invariably the same player base as ours, and evinces a design to reduce our player base to an absolute minimum, it is our right, it is our duty, to throw off our Game System, and to provide a New Game Experience for our future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Developers; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Gaming....

Now I like a lot of the folks here at mmorpg.com, Razorback is cool and some others are cool as well. But if you are going to ban one guy for saying "The NGE Sucks!," then half of your visitors are gonna get banned for saying Eve sucks and the other half are going to get banned for saying WoW sucks... Just constructive criticism

The first wave of mass bannings hit not long after Virrago happened by here.
Coincidence? I think not.
This is why I think MMORPG and other publisher shill sites are wide open to being made irrelevant by a "by MMO players FOR MMO players" type site, hint hint.
SOE's reputation is so hideously bad that no amount of spin, bannings, deletions, will EVER cover it up.
SOE and LEC underestimated us. Look at where they are now. That is not a threat, but a fact.

If you write a short comment like NGE sucks you forget to mention the 1000 reasons why.
Agree absolutely ironically.
To question of topic , sorry don't have any reasonable answer but i am sure the ppl who ban ppl because of this sure give you a unreasonable, irrational one.
i have a idea that would maybe explain this behavior : per power of definition they try to legitimate the power over individuals like me or you they dislike.

Let's be honest, almost all of us hate NGE and SOE. Because, they screwed our game. But, we also think why a company did that, I don't think anyone in the world think PreNGE was worse than NGE, or like the way NGE came online.
You can open a thread, you can write why NGE sucks in a kind way, however it will be full of "PreCU FTW!" posts in minutes. SOE wants to ignore them and probably don't want new players to see them.
With NGE, they tried to change target audience, we all agree right? They couldn't. Now, they are trying to keep current players and bring back old players. I doubt if that will happen.
But, they want to forget the past. They are moving forward or to any hell. All PreCU devs are gone, producers are gone, even server machines are changed... They just don't want to hear PreCU again. I think that's the all reason why they ban people and delete their threads without discussion.
This is not a game that people compare with other games, people compare this game with its past. That must be the worst thing for a game...

The emulator is not going to get sued not because SOE persuaded LEC to "go easy on them" but because the DUMBEST thing SOE or LEC could do is get themselves into a trial court with themselves and the NGE on one side and the emulator and screwed over players on the other...
Especially considering that it's entirely possible (see my detailed explanation in another thread) that both companies may have commited wire fraud.
If SOE got anyone who was a SWG pre NGE subscriber into a courtroom, the floodgates would open.
No jury is going to side with SOE/LEC as "victims" of anything after hearing the CUNGE story.

Actually, the rule is pretty clear about your situation. Undocumented flaming of games isn't tolerated and you will get banned for doing it (should it suit their mood, or someone report you)

Exactly the same thing happened with Ultima Online and is still ongoing today, although the rebel alliance has all been crushed. It's a matter of the executives thinking they know best.
Or the executives trying their own game one weekend and failing to compete...
That is kinda nuts.
Next thing you know I won't be able to complain to the Denny's waitress that my eggs were runny because the chicken has feelings too....
