Tell us what type of contest you would like to have in FreeWorld..

With it still in alpha there is only a limitied amount you can do. But i think once magic and PVP is implemented we could hace some great competitions.

We could have battles 1 on 1ns for each 4/5 lvls... so 5-9, 10-15

and then the winners of that get some sorta prize.. and then do a battle royal... and the winner gets the main prize.

then we get every 10 lvls to do a big hack and slash... all v all (per 10 lvls) and the winners then get a price etc etc.

No pets should be allowed in this tho because when players kill other players pets they respawn and it would just make it a tad unfair.

Pet battle competitions. 1 on one pet battles. Some people lvl their pets, so this would be good to reward them. i personally don't bother after losing a shite load of highly lvled gagas. Well they were high for me... i used about 4 lvls of XP on various pets, took on some enemies a bit hard for me, thinking the pets would own them, but due to the way they were attacking they were getting singled off and beat down.

But maybe set themes... like best landscape, best group photo, best seasonal (4 pics in the same place that all look nice or mb just one but 4 competitions for each season)

Races

People should race across lyion, through noruth to western orc woods, north straight through to Faragor Mountains. First one wins. In event of a tie. They either Kill each other or have to answer a question or run back or somethin. No Run poitions allowed. well thats ur choice. Bit like taking steriods at the olympics tho haha.

I like Psycosis ideas though i dont know how the devs feel about adding stuff from people not on the team (had some... issues with that sort of thing awhile back). Also if that does happen, we are going to need to have a differnt voting sytem than the ss one :P otherwise you are gonna end up with a pointy stick made by ximix with all the votes :P

Were it to happen, only the devs should decide :P

I think the guys were saying to give suggestions on what they might like to see in the game, what type of monsters or weapons and such, their ideas, and the winner would be the one who had the best idea, but not meaning to have it implemented in the game as the result.(If it would be then, they should know it would become property of MindSurge, but I don't think that was their intent.) I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

Yeah for designing a sword i meant sorta hand drawn or in paint or photoshop.. i suppose you could make the 3D thing... and then with its stats next to it as well.... even if the winning sword or monster was never implemented (although i think if its a real good design mb you should look into it. I am sure we won't mind signing a character or a weapon over to you for free. I Know that i wouldn't mind because the satisfaction of having it in there would just be unique.

Competitions to design a MAP, or a ZONE or something could run aswell...

Or we could design the land of the mods, and the winning one might get implemented haha.

On a side note, even tho the game has 2 years of development, which i am glad of because i would like to know the game through and through before this happend, but will you be accepting Mods from differant parts of the world or anything like that? I just think that mb it would be good to have a mod or 2 for every couple of hrs in a time zone. One prob i had with EQ back in the day was that mods were never on at UK times, and sometimes you would wait up all night just so you could get through to one.... and never get an answer...

So yeah will you be ever taking on more mods, will people have to sign up for them or will they get handpicked by the dev team, and what, if any, are the requirements to be 1?

Oh another contest....

We get pictures of the mod team, which we are free to edit as we please, and the best/funniest picture wins..

added onto that... with the pictures, we draw characatures of the dev team....

man if i could draw the ideas i have i'd have won the contestest before they had even been launched.

well at the moment we only have 2 mods, myself and shaena, though some of the devs may be seen in game every so often and they do their share too :P

you may think 2 isn't enought, well for the moment it is, we have problems in game every so often, but nothing major, and our tester team is not a large one so we don't need too many.

Though, as we get closer to beta, and gold, and our player base increases we will prolly need more

so the short answer is, not yet. :P

no 2 mods is more than enough at the moment. The most people i see online at a time is about 40. So even if they all had a problem at the same time its still only 20 people each, and most probs are noob questions that the players answer anyway. Besides u mods do a good Job, I was just curious.

Thank you very much If we do need new Mods, Drac and KD will let you know toward the end of the phase, reason being toward the end of the phase, is for those players that are hard-core and know the game, liked by players, have not caused any problems, dedicated players, another factor is you must be 18 or over.. there are more things as well, an application to be filled out. Another thing that happens at the end of the phase most of the time is the dedicated players get a taste of mod powers.

There was one incident in which i offended someone. I was joking around in a zone and i aimed a comment at them which they thought some one else had put me up to and they took it the wrong way. But thats all past and we are friends now cos it was just a bit of a misunderstanding.

Were going off topic a bit so i thought of a couple of other ideas -

Box Cover desin competition.

Design the front and back of the free world case, and or an expansion box.

Screenshot comp with a differance

Take a screen shot of as many of the differant creatures on freeworld.

To save you getting loads and loads of aplications on this one you could have a minimum limit.

how about some type of bow compitition where you guys set up some bullseyes and make some lines of where people have to shoot from and go from there. also things like first 3 people to hunt 1000 chickens with their bow get a prize

maybe have some type of highland style games, but freeworld style.

even gather all the npc's outside of a city and have them for audience as well. have different things like pvp battles, pet battles, bowman compitition, throw lots of hp on some logs and have people race to chop the most up in a specific amount of time,make some sort of boulder guanlet where people have to run through some are with boulders rolling down at them and they have to destroy them in order to get up to the top of a hill, or be thrown down to the bottom of the hill where its game over.

could even throw in a race or two, kind of like a cross country race and at the finish line are 3 prizes. maybe disable portals for this race and have check points at the center of each map, so it will not be an easy race along the sides, pets can be included just for defending their runners, i think having a non-pvp and a pvp race like this would be fun. dont forget to bring the king and queen into town for the festivities. have them sitting in some make-shift thrown at the head of the where the games are being held. and of course the ceremonies at the end where all kinds of nasty creatures raid the area and the king and queen must be protected at any cost. all kinds of things i guess. well its 2am or so. im off for some more freeworlding time 8)
