In case one double EXP weekend wasn't enough, Sigil celebrates Game Update #1 with another double EXP weekend starting Saturday morning.
To put players right in the action of Game Update #1 and as a continued thanks to our community, we are giving players a second opportunity to receive double adventuring kill experience this weekend! (3/10/07-3/12/07)
Be ready to face new challenges and explore new lands as you dive into the depths of Game Update #1 and continue your adventures in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes!
The event is on all servers and corresponds with the daily restarts:
STARTS: Saturday, March 10th, 5:00am PST (Saturday, March 10th, 4:00am GMT for Europeans)
ENDS: Monday, March 12th, 5:00am PST (Monday, March 12th, 4:00am GMT for Europeans)

Last weekends dbl XP weekend was a lot of fun for me. My guild on Targonor had three full groups leapfrogging past each other in Trengle Keep. Anyone saying the servers are dead just hasn’t been playing lately. They just opened up some new areas and of course saying thanks for living with some buggyness is great... just speaking of the dbl xp. I don’t expect everyone to like VG, matter of fact there are lots of reasons not to like it. I guild with TOG The Older gamers... We all love the game, we have different expectation perhaps than a lot of players that may be younger. Nothing wrong with that… I wasn’t so patient when I was in my teens and twenties. I will say though that I know about 200 people that will definitely be looking foreword to this weekend.

This is really really lame. It doesn't match the vision that Brad laid out for us "core" gamers who wanted a game that was challenging. Vanguard was marketed as a game that would require effort and time and provide hardcore gamers the experience they were seeking. This is a complete betrayal of what they originally promised.
I have no doubt that this is a decision created by SOE's influence. It just doesn't match Brad's vision.
This is a great idea wish they'd do it for a week cause some people can't get on during the weekends cause of family obligations and other stuff. But reguardless good job Sigil, hope I can get on for an hour to atleast get some.
Oh and to the people that still think its in beta... I'm not sure how many beta's you've played but if this is "paid beta" then I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off at all. I've played many beta's in my time, and this game was farther along then any mmo to date when it was in beta 3. Is Vanguard finished? No, no MMO is every finished until they close the servers then that's a pretty good indication. There will always be patches and bugs to fix. So yes they are popping bugs still and doing updates.
Vanguard had a smooth release (which I've never seen from any MMO), the dev's are active, take care of bugs, answer petitions, and on top of that they have a sense of humor. So get a clue and realize this game is far from being in Beta. Its a stable, well put together game, and has alot to offer any hardcore or casual gamer. If you don't like it, then just say that, don't go around lying about something you don't know anything about.

all this is is another "crap... our game's still broken. umm.. another double xp weekend! that'll keep 'em paying errr I mean playing."
God don't you people have anything else to worry about other than this game? If you're not even playing then why bother crying out in anger over double xp? If you are playing then my god man you should kick your own ass or atleast sit n spin! Double XP is a good thing for players especially those that don't get to play often so why cry about it?! Who cares for what reason it is! It benefits you! People aren't going to sign back up for just two days of double xp, its for the players that have toughed it out through the bugs and issues and kept playing not to lure people. Despite how the world does revolve around money it doesnt make everyone evil. Maybe you should stop smoking whatever it is that makes you so paranoid or better yet mind your own business.
As for not being able to play on the weekends due to commitments....more people play on the weekends actually so..the above message aint for you but still the timing sucks.

May i ask why Siglil should come out and say something that is "YOUR" opinion, YOU feel it's in beta, i don not feel it's beta, do i think less of you now, nope you have a diferent opinion then i have and there is nothing wrong about that nor is it a reason to insult people just because they might think diferently (- * words are a commen statement not directed at you personaly WMBYRNE )
If people still not have figured out how marketing works regardless if one likes it or not then better ask yourself who's fooling who, will marketing alway's display thruth, ermmm not in the real world, maybe in some of people's fantasy minds they would like it to be the thruth and nothing but the thruth, but in reality it always will be bend alittle, this doesn't mean that everything that is marketed is a lie, but people need to grow some skin it seems to many weaklings around that seem to be confused in how things really work. Do i like being lied to, afcourse not do i feel that i've been lied to by Sigil, that all depence on how you look at it, i believe a narrow-minded person would say yes and a open-minded person doesn't see this being a lie, a open-minded person might have a better understanding how the world works in regards to how some people see the world as being the box they live in.
It's nice to see they are trying to attract new players and get people to extent thier subscriptions with offering double exp. Too bad they haven't added a new server since launch, which to me says the game isn't drawing in more players than it's losing. When I see them offer double exp and new servers, I may try the game out again.
My other comment I wanted to add is... 2 double exp weekends in a row... That makes it look like there isn't a lot of fun in the slow grind and they are realizing how bad they screwed up with making the leveling process so boring. From the outside (yep, I haven't played the game since beta) this game appears to be slowly dying out (no new servers, 2 bonus exp weekends in a row).

Its pretty funny to see them throw these things out there trying to get people to buy the game when all they are doing is making it worse. Once thier core of supporters hit the cap they won't b sticking around long and then no one will be playing this game

Now if we all decided we didn't like the way it worked and we want it to change then all we have to do is not buy products from those who fail to deliver what the said they would.

But really why do you have to be a completely mind washed fanboy, jumping up and down in your computer chair repeating the catechism “ MMO’s are a work in progress there never finished” before realize that it 's just a excuse in general for the industry for bad products. That is not a shot a Vanguard, but the industry in general, really Vanguard has a way to go. I say, if you can ride out this period in Vanguard development, you deserve all the goodies Sigil can give you.
You're probably right. After all look at where Brad's vision has gotten you so far. How dare SOE try to suggest something that might salvage a sinking ship without the proper respect and homage to the "vision".
It's not going to salvage the sinking ship anyway, the problems run much deeper than that.
Don't think you understand what a beta is, firstly you don't keep your characters in a beta, secondly you contribute to the game design in beta, and thirdly VG is no longer either of these.
As for unfinished content, just about every MMORPG out there has this issue, come on be realistic.

Two things come to mind, either wake-up or grow-upTwo double xp weekends so close together and so close to start-up are symptoms of a game in trouble.
The "we want a hard-core game" crowd are going to be hard pressed to use that description about VG after this ( since the game is basically helping players on the easy road to level with this action ).
The devs must be having some interesting discussions about what course the game is suppose to take right about now.
Why does a double XP have to mean anything? guild wars events like this every weekend. it gives my mate the chance to get me out of crafting mode to go adventuring with him.
2 double XP weekends, anyone thought hay maybe the Vg community enjoyed and apprieciated this so y not another 1?
its not hard for them to implement so i dont thinks there has to b a reason.
why do u anti VG guys have to look into it deeper? it is remember: a GAME. u play for 1 reason fun. if u dont have fun simple dont play.
stop complaining about paying for a beta. i pay for something i enjoy playing. its better then any other mmo with the bugs imo, thats y i play. but im not on the other games channels flaming, whining and wondering y they do everything. get over it and find something else to complain about.
i just cant wait to get home from work and get some double XP!
