this is MY top five IN ORDER .. in percieved awesomeness from best to lesser best ...( i realize not all of these are in beta, in fact none of them are .. but they are still what i got my eyes on )
1.fallen earth ... game looks amazing man .. amazing maybe the TRUE SWG successor for me ..
2. WARHAMMER - what can i say it will be intense all out war .. anti-carebear ...
3. AGE of conan - im hoping this is gory, raunchy and dark .. looks sick in those respects ...
4. God's and Heros - i HATE SOE .. but some .. and i say SOME of the screen shots ive seen on this game are beautiful ... some are .. ehhh ok ... the setting is awesome .. with 300 out .. it will be good to continue the feel after having seen that movie .. ancient greece and rome always an awesome stage for MMORPG ... their worlds are the original fantastical, mythological lore ...game looks good .. combat looks good ... we'll see how the development team IS with respect to the consumer base .. fi they are smart they will respect the community and give their opinions serious weight .. otherwise it will be another doomed product with the brand label SOE somewhere on the box ...
5. stargate worlds ... from what ive read and seen .. also looks awesome ..
I just can't see adding games I'm anticipating into this list (Fallen Earth, Stargate Worlds, Star Trek Online), as I may end up hating them (like I did with DDO).
Currently playing: LOTRO, Rift (beta) and WoW (on occasion)
4. You hate SOE is fine, but i hope you know they are only publishing it and it's Pertupal Entertainment who is developing it
But that list isn't all that firm. Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call, and earlier versions of SWG were contenders as well. I love everything I've seen in The Saga of Ryzom too, but I don't feel like I've played enough to make a REAL call. And I nearly confessed my secret love for Lineage 2 there also. Lord of the Rings Online may yet make that list, too, but I really didn't want to count any pre-release game, since post-release is when you see how the game is really going to be managed, and poor management can make or break the total experience. IMO. YMMV.
... This is where I draw the line: __________________.
1. Asheron's Call - My first MMO, Great cause it was a seamless world, hard to build a charecter, and had tons of people back in the day.
2. WoW - Great idea for taking all the War Craft games and making them into a MMO. Fun to play, but lacks a seamless world.
3. Age of Conan - Graphics are going to be great, revolutionary fighting, more then exciting lore. Even though the requirements are not difined yet, they might be hard for some poeple with older computers.
4. Dark Age of Camelot - A step up from EQ and EQ II, the only draw backs are the small regions/areas.
5. Ever Quest II - Better then the first but I hated the communication system, it seemed that the community was lacking there.
Previously it would have been difficult for me to narrow it down to five games, but over the years the games I used to like (such as SWG, DAoC, and FFXI) have completely lost their appeal to me.
Top 5 played... Well hell I think I only played 6....
1- Original Star Wars Galaxies, Pre-Jedi prefered.
2- Eve.
3- Ryzom.
4- LotR (I played very little of this game).
5- EQ <-An abomination in my eyes
(The one that did not make it to the top five was WoW, the EQ clone).
Games I hope will be good?
1- Raph's new MMORPG.
2- Fallen Earth.
3- Dark Fall, when it finally comes out.
4- AOC.
5- If Warhammer is more M like AOC, Warhammer.
--honorable mention, the MMORPG GreenMarine is working on, I want to see that dammed smuggler system he was planning!
--When you resubscribe to SWG, an 18 yearold Stripper finds Jesus, gives up stripping, and moves with a rolex reverend to Hawaii. --In MMORPG's l007 is the opiate of the masses. --The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence! --CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.
3. *Corum Online (Open Beta): Very unique gameplay and reminds me of Diablo II
4. Flyff : Lots of fun and an excellent community
5. Shadowbane
* Corum was a huge hit in Korea and Japan over the last couple of years and it was finally brought to the by a company called GPotato. It is a lot of fun and it is free-to-play! I have been addicted to the game since the Closed Beta started back in January.
