Did they improve the choppiness ?

I remember when i first started beta testing the game  a few months back, the game was very choppy in crowded areas.  Running in a town was a pain, with the game constantly freezing for seconds at the times.   Did they improve that at all ?   I have a very good computer and graphics card, i'm playing other recent games and i have never experienced choppy perfomance like i saw in Lotr.  So is it better ?, i'm thinking of re-installing it.

It must have been a very long time ago as I have found this game very smooth even when it was being stress tested!

    Maybe, maybe not.

You should have given your key to someone who was going to actually help test.

I am still experiencing  some very slight choppiness (only in crowded areas) , however I feel it may be down to my connection right now.

I only started the LOTRO beta on the stresstest weekends and i didn't experience any real 'choppiness' (is that even a word?)  in crowded areas, the only thing i noticed when a npc is being 'hailed' by ALOT of players it becomes ignorant and doesn't respond.

With about 100+ players on a small spot it does become 'laggy' as in graphic lag but with a reasonable 20-40 players it's smooth sailing.

The choppiness is pretty minimal, I am using the high res textures and have to drop down a couple of notches on some settings if I am spending much time in Bree. I think the only way you could run everything tweaked to the max is if you have a 8800 GTX. Still the game looks better than pretty much anything else out there even at moderate settings. What was strange was during the last stress test I could run higher settings with less hiccups so I have to wonder if they had disabled some metrics hardware on the server end that they are running in beta to get numbers in certain areas..

    I miss DAoC
