Ey all,
I would like to know if I can play this game with some decent graphics and decent FPS. I ask this because I have no clue what all my things do and if it is enough.
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900XT
AMD Athlon 64 processor
3200+
Clockspeed(?) 2.00 GHz, 1.00 GB
148 GB In total, 82 GB used, 64 GB left (planning on cleaning my computer ).
Thanks

here are the minimum specs from the home page
There will be an open beta starting 06 April, download the game and check it out for yourself is my advice. You are beyond the minimum specs and the game should look and run decent at lower setting but trying to predict someone else's FPS is a crap shoot since there are a lot of other factors involved. Even 2 Nvidia 5900 video cards by two different manufactures will vary several FPS, motherboards and memory timings will also have some effect. Just DL the trial and check it out yourself in April, good luck and I hope you enjoy
Edit- see if DDO is running a free trial, it uses the same engine and performance should be similar.
I miss DAoC
Out in the open i can play on low/medium settings in somewhat ok FPS but with jerkiness when battles begin, groups run past me and so,but in towns even on lowest settings i lag a lot.
So it's possible to play on an old PC but i would not reccomend it unless you have atleast 1 Gb ram and 128 Mb graphic card.
I have some friends that tried to play it on minimum spec machines with 64 Mb graphiccard and 512 Mb ram and it was a pain in the butt for them to play.
Out in the open fields they could play it but as soon they approached towns it turned into a really nightmare.

I got something like:
3.4 Ghz Pentium 4
2048 MB RAM
GeForce 6800 GT
and not much diskspace left...
Last night I tried maxing ALL video settings. Wow... The game looked stunning. I figured I'd lag like a monkey on crack but I actually didn't lag at all.. well, I did have a tiny bit of stuttering that I hardly noticed when loading Bree and moving around in areas with alot of players. But all in all, the engine seems really supportive of low-end systems and in all honesty offer great performance at high settings.
