So what is Rising Arms?

Why the name "Rising Arms"?

What Servers will you be playing on?

Are there any requirements to joining? or do you recruit just anyone?

Another requirement is that you are dedicated to AoC. You have done some research, know what the game is about, and at least have some idea of what archetype/class you want to be. It is highly recommended that you are ready to purchase AoC on its launch date.

How do I go about joining this guild?

I still have some question on the guild? where can I get some answers?

What's the point of making a guild for a game that ain't even released yet. Who knows if you actualy will like it?

"It's no good coming to our game if you are trying to grow weed, It's no good coming to our game if you want to make pants. It's only worth coming to our game if you want to burn things to the ground."

Many people have already decided that this will be their next MMO. I, my fellow guild members, and about 80 other guilds have a variety of reasons to dedicate themselves to this game. Wether it be they are a fan of the books, fan of the movies, or  a PvPer looking for a mature, low-fantasy game.

I've done my research and I know for sure this is the next game I want to be part of. If you still think i'm crazy, check out the Age of Conan website and look at the videos and screens, and developer's quotes that have been released.

If this is your type of game, please feel free to visit Http://www.RisingArms.com and become one of our several members

Sometimes people can pull it off, doesn't hurt to try. Myself, I'd come up with a name, then see who would want to help make a guild grow before I made any rules and all that. The most fun is forming the structure of a guild I think. Anyway, it's always worth the try, and they might be one of those first established guilds.

You obviously never heard or seen anything about AOC right? There´s no game like AOC outhere or to be released, just watch one or 2 videos and u will know AOC is unique.

LoL, same to you. Its harder to recruit when you don't have a movie to help you out ;)

If I were to give you any advice, I'd say start out first with people you know pretty well. Then, instead of actively recruiting by advertising and all of that, play with people for awhile, invite them to your groups in game, get to know them a bit, then eventually ask them if they want to join. Best to have a small clan or guild then a big one with no control. Also, you don't have to have the fanciest site, just a clean one that's easy to navigate and look at. If you're trying to form a guild in anticipation for a game, keep guild rules and structure short and simple but  enforced. I guess what I'm trying to say is, let people know they're going to have fun and not have a second job.

Thank you for the advice, but that is pretty much what we are doing. I have a few friends within the guild and some we have recruited. Our guild has a very basic structure and rules set, easy to follow. And our site is fairly easy to navigate...all the starting information you need is in one area.

More free advice to guilds (yeah i know you guys dont need it but i got nuthin else to do atm   )

    Test.  Your.  Members.

Preferably in an Arena against other members of the guild.  Do Small Team vs Large Team (or better yet 1 vs 3) to simulate a gank.  Not only will you discover who's a fraud and who has mad skillz, you'll encourage the notion of Duelling and drilling together.

Especially watch the guys who Brag in forum that they can solo multiple opponents 15 lvls greater than them, or that they keep entire armies healed all by themselves.  Typically you find they can't back it up.  Better to find it out early in an Arena than in actual battle.  Will save a lot of bitching and moaning and false accusations and hurt feelings if you weed out the aspholes early on.

This is especially true with the realtime combat in AoC.  It's quite different from the timed rounds in WoW or EQ, and someone who is good in those may not be able to think and twitch fast enough in real time.

/steps off soapbox, trips and falls on face
