Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

Do you feel like SoE is treating consumers badly??

Do you feel like they are advertising features that Vanguard doesn't have?

Do you feel like they have released a product that isn't ready to be release? A product equal to a vacuum that doesn't suck or a TV that barely turns on and has shifty color?

If you feel like SoE is lying about their product, releasing a broken product, etc. Then here is a link to take action.

Do you feel SoE has any of the following? misleading advertising, improper selling practices, and non-delivery of goods or services.

https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx

WARNING: This is in no way an attempt to troll, flame, or antagonize. I simply want to give those who feel any of these things a real-world way to handle the problem. We as consumers CANNOT sit idly by as companies continuously screw us over.

I am also NOT saying SoE is lying, I am NOT saying SoE is bad in any way. I am saying that IF YOU FEEL LIKE SoE is, then there is the link to take action. (I created this thread earlier, but apparently it was trolling because I didn't say everything perfectly. So here I am saying everything in a clean, organized, and factual way. I am not making any claims against SoE, but stating that if others FEEL this way, then to take action. THIS IS NOT TROLLING. This is for the betterment of the community of this world.)

Here's some backup to statements made. These are facts, events, and experience from other players.

    Haha

Serious death penalties makes every close call an adrenaline rush, and every minor achievement a major victory. This alternative rule-set should be in all MMORPGs.

We all could probably click the next button on that page for numerous companies =)

The Better Business Bureau, LOL... More like corporate America's complaint collection agency.

    Fozzie has the right idea...

Tralala another SOE bashing thread,,honestly its getting really old now.

Move on its for the best.

This isn't a SoE bashing thread, it's a DO SOMETHING thread.

Bashing is where you use verbal words to belittle something. This is in no way, shape, or form belittling anyone. This is, "If you feel a certain way, then stop whining and bashing SoE in threads, and instead TAKE ACTION."

Actions speak louder than words, trolling, flaming, or bashing. Actions.

I can't believe soe is actually a member of the bbb. i remember when i played ffxi and checked out the bbb and they had an "f" rating. i just assumed that all mmo companies chose not to participate because they could care less what a consumer thought of their product, only if they bought it. But it seems like a few of the companies actually pay attention to this (although in all honesty the BBB isn't quite the "authority" it used to be anyway).

I forget his name, but I remember a dev from the DAoC team talking about the BBB once, and how they sent Mythic a letter saying something to the effect that for a mere $25k "donation", any consumer complaints filed against them would go away.

As with any organization, the BBB is out to make a buck, too.

As someone in the SWG forums said, if there were any legitimate legal action to be taken, some ambulance chasing lawyer would be running tv spots advising you that you too could get on the gravytrain and sue MMO dev company X for the grievous, and malicious, emotional trauma they've caused you. And they'd have done it long before Vanguard was even a twinkle in McQuaid's eye.

I will agree with the OP that actions speak volumes more than making post after post on some anonymous corner of the internet.

Are people insane?!! File a complaint because a game was not as good as the hype before it was released? Its just a crappy game, its not some den of thieves! That is like reporting a Skoda for being illegal business, just because another company makes Ferraris.

Get real people! It was overhyped.. Reality hit those that belive in fantasy creaturss and unicorns when it was released, those that look at games and hype with open eyes, and dont get carried away into lala-land by some simple marketing tricks knew exactly what game it was. They have so far not broken any promises, the game works, its just not as good as people wanted. Your own fault for believing any old hoot a complete stranger throw in your face.. learn from it.. grow up.. and next time dont follow junk like some fanatic religion before you know what it is you are  talking about.

"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly.
It should be thrown with great force"

The BBB is still around?  The OP made me giggle.

Maybe someone can post a link directing everyone that thinks SoE is treating consumers well to report that information.

Why exactly would the BBB care if people "feel" like SoE treated them badly?  I could be wrong, but I didn't think that's what the BBB is there for, and spamming thier site with petty complaints is just wasting thier time, they don't care that SWG had a combat overhaul!  Now if you called SoE and someone told you to go F yourself, then you talk to that persons boss and they say the same thing you have a reason to call the BBB.Also, don't you have to be affiliated with the BBB in some way; honestly don't know wich is why I ask.

Also, why is this thread necesary on a forum for VG?  Should it be in the general forum?

Perhaps the link to the BBB, wich is uncalled for is the reason for your ban?

What about all the people who read "90 days free Vanguard" which is blatant false advertising, because the WAY they have it set up is where it is designed for people to not read "Vanguard Players" and for the majority of people, they do NOT know that the "Players" part is actually NOT the game, but a crappy service.

I even read that part, and the first 5 times I came across it, I swore it was 90 days free of vanguard. It was only the SIXTH time I looked at it that I remembered SoE has a "Players" service and when I looked closely, the 90 days free weren't for vanguard at all. Such deception.

You have to admit that is incredibly shady on their part.

It has nothing to do with the game failing expectations. It has to do with not getting a refund for a game that doesn't work, an unfinished and broken product, and MISLEADING advertising.

American society is so messed up. Soon corporations and companies will own this world and when Joe Nobody says, "How did that happen?" it will be the small minority of people who weren't idiots who say, "We tried to do something. You didn't care."

Same goes for the internet, all products, all services, and anything that deals or can possibly deal with money.

It said 90 days free vgplayer acces; not 90 days free vanguard.

The bbb doesn't care that you can't read fine print.  You're confused.

If it didn't say Station Players, you might have a point. But making assumptions as a consumer does not equal fraud. I, and I'm sure every single human being on the planet has misread a label at some point. Not grounds for legal proceedings, though.

It's kinda like accusing Nabisco of fraud because you ate the whole box of Snackwells, and didn't lose weight when the box says low fat.
