I've downloaded the game and made my 10 days fre trial account and i was looking forward to play the game but the updates are downloading really slow. Am I the only with those problems ? could u download the patches elsewhere?

I have tried the beta for about a couple of day's last year '06 and did not like it, didn't like the movement, did like the graphics but found them to be out of sink with their animations, it felt kind of stiff, the quest logs I found messy. So I stopped with beta. Still keep reading news and articles about it and every time I read something about the game I keep thinking to myself this game is COOL but kept waiting...until yesterday the trial showed up on Fileplanet so i downloaded it, installed it and tried it again.

Everything went very smooth, I got scared when the update window came-up and remembering some people complaining by the time it takes to update I thought this going to take some time, but it didn't as soon the window came up, flash update bar and ready to go.

Character creation was as far I can tell not much changed from what I remember from beta, then I came in game, whenever I try a new game I first push the limits in settings and see what happens, well all worked perfect, got in game, but then I must say sorry...it felt like it did when I played it in beta, now this does not have to be a bad thing nor does it mean that the game is in bad shape. It only expresses the way I felt and compared that to the feeling I felt when in beta. So basically still did not like the movement, still graphics look pretty decent, the animals roaming around like pigs/sheep/goats look pretty cool (sorry I’m just a sucker for detail) and that is what is nicely done in Archlord, now detail don't make movement and this is where Archlord for me personally is not the game for ME.

I honestly would see no reason why someone else could not enjoy this game other then that person having a different opinion then I have. I did not like the game just like I don't like many other games, doesn't make the persons that play those games suckers, just people with different interests. Everyone should have the right to express their feelings towards some games but I sometimes feel that some people want their opinion to be fact. No one can say a game is utterly crap until that game in question has it plug pulled and never to be played again. As long games keep exciting regardless if there are server merges or Nerfs, patches, removals, free to play, ect ect is only showing us the community that company's will mold a game towards it's costumers. Now maybe Archlord started of wrong with it's setup of servers which led to many people scattered all over those servers, now we have the crowed that when they read something is crap they seem to instantly believe that and might not play the game pure on what they have read, so some servers became abit more empty, this has in effect that those that do enjoy the game would feel like they in this huge world with not many people, so they lowered the amount of servers to make the worlds feel more populated, I see this as a positive thing (okay have no clue in how the char. transfer worked so can't comment on that) but even then we read on forums people bitching about it as if it only showing that the game is crap. I came to know that no matter what some game company's do the make a game more enjoyable for those that do enjoy the game or might come new to a game, there always be people telling their opinion like it is fact.

Now I say this again... I do not like Archlord, it's personal, it's no fact that proofs the game is crap, nobody play's crap REALLY NOBODY and since there are many people playing Archlord then the only FACT is that the game is not crap but just a game that is liked by people with other interests then my own.

Well said Thony. Despite the bad review and comments, I played the trial, and absolutely love this game. Bad publicity has really hurt this game, and its a damn shame. I totally agree with you, opinions are opinions and everyone has different tastes. It totally eludes me why some people just havta go badmouthing every single game they dont like, and in turn only hurt the people who actually enjoy playing that specific game. If you dont like something, thats your opinion, dont force it on everyone as 'fact'. So next time anyone wants to post negative comments, rather keep quiet. Before you damage the reputation of a game and hurt the player base, remember, developers need to eat too...
