Holy scheise, you couldent even spell WoW right, and chill with the ???!!!!

World Of Warcraft obviously, even though i hate it.
  • RazorteetsRazorteets Member Posts: 92
While I may not be a huge fan of WoW, pitting it against SRO is rather unfair.  I mean, WoW is obviously superior, but it had damn well better be, given that people are paying fifteen dollars per month to play it.

Let me put it this way: If it were an asskicking contest, SRO would only have one leg.

WoW is the best pay game and Silkroad is the best free game.

Both are the best of their class but the pay to play class is so superior its hard to even compare them.

I think everyone knows the pros and cons of wow.

But silkroad has some pretty cool gameplay elements if you can get past the fact its a pretty damn savage grind to get to the cool parts.

    He's not joking.

6hrs for 15 to 16 and you need lvl 20 to even START the cool parts. But even then you'll be eaten by the higher levels. Max is 70.

    SRO easily ....

The design and gameplay mechanics of SRO is way more interesting.

Monthly fee or not, WoW was never on my radar. The product is 90% sheer marketing and 10% product itself, not worth of my dime.
  • vingvegavingvega Member Posts: 577
Then how can you compare if you never played WoW?  This is like comparing apples with cantelopes.  Can't believe I actually read this post...  Face it, WoW dominates now.

    Face what? Bipedal zombies? Lol

And who exactly told you about my most private time spending habit? Were you my specter in my times of need?

No one can answer you which of the two is the "best", it all comes down to your own personal liking. As for my opinion, I've played both and WoW dominates in every category.
  • GameloadingGameloading Member UncommonPosts: 14,182
World of Warcraft is much better then Silkroad. With that said, to get the full WoW experience, you have to pay 20$ for the box, 30$ for the expansion, and 15$ a month, where Silkroad is free of charge. You get what you pay for, and its really up to you if the superior quality of WoW is worth it.
  • higgsbosonhiggsboson Member Posts: 296
Ah... don't give in to each-to-their-own-personal-liking BS.

Claim on objectivity resonates better for the purpose of programming the mass.

Also "you get what you pay for" type of argument is largely an old outdated household verbatim in my booklet.

So again, SilkRoad baby SilkRoad !!!

the odd person might be so jaded as to hate wow, but overall there is more to it. WoW is the reigning king.

its like comparing hockey to ultimate frizbee in Canada, or Baseball to Cricket in the States. Or soccer to Baseball for the rest of the world. They are just too far spread

I just wonder if World of Warcraft is spelling in lowercase and Silkroad is spelling in all-caps in the headline for some specific reason? Hehe. I think that I know which one the OP likes better!

I've played both games quite a lot actually, and there is no question that World of Warcraft owns Silkroad in almost every facet.  However, with that, the games cannot truly be compared against each other as has already been stated.  It would be like putting a heavyweight boxer in with a featherweight.  For free-to-play mmos, Silkroad is a very good game, one of the best in the free mmos.  While I would not agree that WoW owns the pay to play just based on my personal opinion and prefrences, it IS a super high quality and appealing game that over 8.5 million now have an active account on.

In the end, nothing matters except personal preferences.  Choose a game you like to play, whether it be an mmo, an fps, or a strategy game.  Whatever you have fun with, go with that and forget about the number of subscribers and what other people think of your gaming selection!

Dude you are so wrong. Both games are awesome in their own way but Silkroad comes on top because it is free. Don't even want to argue. lol

Because Silkroad is a f2p game qualifies it for being a better game? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but saying you are wrong because not everyone shares the same opinion as you is just stupid. F2p games tend to attract an audience that would otherwise never p2p a game and they are mostly consisted of immature people that will whine and beg for cash because they are too lazy to earn it themselves.

silkroad is ok... for a F2P game.....

    Dude...

    Like...

    Relax with the CAPS already.

English and spelling are important life skills.  I would suggest perfecting them before choosing either WOW or Silk Road.

WOW takes the cake on this one... but SRO isn't bad for a free to play game as others have stated.

F2P does not a good game make. I myself do not like WoW for various reasons (the community and raiding being two of them), but I still have to give it credit when due and SR is not on par with WoW when it comes to game value/quality, IMHO.

The difference is that F2P games attracts a lot more of those rather than a p2p game. Theres plenty of people that just simply dont want/cant pay a monthly fee to play a game for various reasons and to be honest, Id rather invest my time on a  p2p game and deal with less of those than a free game bombarded with those kind of people.
  • xAlrythxxAlrythx Member Posts: 585

Both games suck in their own crappy ways.

But your comparing Bruce Lee to Jackie Chan imo.

WoW is a much better game, one game being P2P and one game being F2P has nothing to do with the game and I don't know why you would bother to compare them in the first place.

But if you want my reason, SRO is based on grind, it has the same F2P asian UI as every other F2P game out there, the skill system is stupid and lacks freedom unless you want to be underpowered, there are so many bots it's not funny, the community is worse than WoWs (it's true). I could go on.....

    Currently Playing: Everything but MMORPGs
