could someone who has spent some time following this game please answer the following queries i have....
- is it a 'seamless' world or will there be loading screens from one area to the next
- in combat - will your opponent (or mob) be target locked? i.e. will ranged or caster chars (and melee too for that matter) need to aim at the target (FPS style), or will having the target selected count as aiming
- pvp - will there be different rulesets on different servers?
- what kind of pvp is there (tribe v tribe?, FFA?, ???faction wars???, duelling etc)
- is there pvp (full) looting?
- any instancing? if any, roughly what proportion
- is there uber loot? i.e. is this item centric?
- is there craft for weapons, armour, spells, potions etc?
- is there player housing? (with construction crafts)
- what is the best guesstimate on OB
many thanks in advance

1. Not seamless. Zones and loading.
2. In melee I believe that the way it works is that your target is whoever/whatever is postioned in front of you. You don't click on them and make them your target you just move up close and put them in front of you, I think. For ranged attacks I'm not sure how exactly it will work.
3. Probably
4. Looks to be almost entirely guild versus guild
5. No looting in PvP. But they have something called blood money that is basically supposed to work as a kind of points system for PvP kills, except in the form of money that you can use to buy stuff. So far it's unclear to me how they will prevent people from exploiting this system to farm the hell out of blood money.
6. Yes. Not sure exactly how much. Guild cities will all exist in non-PvP instances.
7. Yes there will be uber loot and it will be item-centric. But other people don't want to believe this and will tell you otherwise. But it's inevitable. Look at some facts. As you progress you will aquire better and better equipment. That's one of the major goals. Equipment lasts forever once you get it. Can't be destroyed or taken from you. There will be "end-game" raids to aquire top-notch equipment. So what happens when you have all the best equipment? One of the major motivations is gone. No more carrot to reach for. So like all games based on progression they will inevitably keep upping the ante and putting in better and better equipment untill the equipment is more important than the character/player using it.
8. Not sure if spells will fall under crafting but otherwise yes. You will have to be in a guild to fully access crafting however.
9. There will player cities. I can't remember for sure if there will be individual player houses.
10. I don't know and won't guess.
2.) Its a "soft lock" system, IE. if you or your opponent moves around enough the lockon "breaks", it is primarily there to help your character make slight adjustments to keep facing your opponent, not twist you around to face him no matter what. Ranged attacks are handled in a FPSlike system.
4. The main part of PvP, and the system that the endgame revolves around is are GvG sieges. There is also arena style combat available, and FFA PvP in certain locations, but both are secondary.
5. The aforementioned blood money system, is used to buy PvP specific skills and equipment.
6. Instancing is mainly used on densely populated statis dungeons, and with the aforementioned guild cities, probably a few other places as well. Guild cities are not however restricted to non PvP zones. When choosing to build a city, the guild essentially has a choice between other players trying to burn it down, or NPC mobs doing so. (Note: the faqs call guild cities in the different areas by different names for clarity, hence the rather ironic confusion.)
7. Yes and no, it is difficult to tell just how item centric it will be, and as such there have been several... discussions on the issue as the above poster makes clear. Consider this, skill will play a larger part than in previous games thanks to the combat system, the best equipment will be from crafting tradeskills, and its been stated that other means of aquiring gear will be as much or more potentially... lucrative as raiding.
9. There might be player housing within the guild cities, but otherwise they decided to scrap the individual player housing system.

thx for the useful answers, and ive spent a little time on the official site lookin up more on the combat, the classes, crafting etc.
i know MMORPG.com say release end Oct, but i know better than to take that as gospel.
ive read up on the spellweaving, but no-where does it say that spellcsting requires targeting like ranged weps, so unless someone says different i am going to go ahead and presume there is no need to aim, just select the foe to lock on as per most MMORPGs
i guess the biggest downside for me is that zoned worlds lead to less immersive experience IMHO, but it should have a performance upside
whether i like the "twich" combat though will be the game maker or breaker
