This is probably my first unpleasent post ever here on mmorpg , I just wanted to not so kindly thank Brad/Soe for ruining my fun yet again. Not that they are the ones that always do it, but only when i play an soe related game. Only game they seemed to have make better for my type of play was EQ2, played it then left it for about a year only to come back to a great surprise.Though EQ2 is not the best of games , it is probably more playable then most. I ponder why is it that every mmorpg feels that class "balancing" /chuckle is always more important that fixing the true problems with games. I guess I am just a fair bit annoyed that this update made all of my guildmates who gutted out this mess finally just give up and go back to WoW. Sad because i can't stand WoW. I have played nearly every mmorpg since the UO/EA debacle, but players are just not going to continue to deal with this. I can fairly state that the poplulation is dreadful ,well at least in the high 30's and low 40's as my friends and I hardly ever see a soul.Oh well, the 8 folks i had left on this game finally just gave up in a meeting we had and we all hope that it is bearable to come back in the future , though there are 2 promising titles due out end of this year and beginning of next so we probably won't be back. These are folks i have gamed with for nearing 10 years so we stick together. I hope for all of you that Brad/Soe work on the things that matter from here on , but for now they just lost 9 more folks.
See you all in other games and good luck if you continue here!

SOE didn't ruin your gaming experience in Vanguard. I swear to God, Im beginning to believe the movie, "Idiocracy" is a prophecy to the future.
Im sorry you didnt have a good experience. I didn't either and Im in the same boat as you are. But you just cant blame a company that had nothing to do with the game. It's just not right.
That's like blaming Harper Collins because your newest Stephen King Book was a bore to read. Gotta blame Stephen King. Not the company that published the book.

Seriously though, Vanguard actually did need to do some class balancing, and given where they were a month ago they are actually fixing "real" bugs too. I doubt that anyone would argue this game did not come out too early, it very obviously did so a lot of things that should have been sorted out in beta simply did not get fixed, like balance. If you can't stand a game changing the rules on you, just give it six months until things are a little more settled. Their balancing is not, after all, anything like the CU or the NGE from SW:G, and a lot of it was damage going up not nerfing everything to being unable to kill a pumpkin.
EQ2 crashes about once an hour or two for me. I can't figure out why. Still like the game; just wanted to show how performance problems can be varied from game to game and person to person; becuase VG runs like a charm for me.
May I ask what class you were playing, and have you considered trying another class before your sub runs out? It's usually what I do when I'm halfway through my free month and finding that I'm not having fun with the toon I'm playing. If I didn't take this approach to MMO games then I wouldn't have played WoW for the 2 years I played. Started with a druid, got bored out of my teeth and rolled a mage instead; all it took to hook me.
It wasn't my class friend but i think the class i was playing was probably hit the hardest, the ranger. I did have an Sk not to far behind though, it wasn't the game completely for me, it was the game and that it now scared off all my guildmates and RL friends that i have been gaming with for about 10 years. I still enjoyed the game though it seemed a little odd to me to have such horrid optimization problems yet still worried about making the game a bit more hardcore. Don't get me wrong i believe for my first ever EQ character(pally) had some 40+ RL days to get to 50, this was when it was harder to exp and there were race and class penalties, so a "grind" doesnt effect me as bad as others i just don't believe you can do it in the manner it was done. I do believe believe most classes were hit pretty hard and probably isn't real evident to lower level folks, therefor the curve will never seem as torrent to them.
I did not wish to leave the game entirely, but games are much more enjoyable with a regualr group of friends. We are all in our 30's and 40's and don't get huge lumps of gametime. Things like vent has made gaming alot more pleasurable, but continued lag and performance problems then throw in a nerf bat is going to scare some folks away. I will not be the first to say it, but will reiterate it.....WoW ruined the gaming industry. It dumbed down the genre so intensely that extending an already descent grind certainly makes the nerf bat on top of a grind seemed that much more of an insult. Heck WoW even ruined me, my mates and I coasted almost every class to 60 in the first year with still making plenty of times for the family...playing WoW is like hitting the "I WIN" button. The game had it's very enjoyable points though but yes it did ruin gaming for alot of people and people who made it their first "MMO" will probably never get to enjoy the gaming cycle alot of other mmo's previous to and forthcoming bring to many of us because not getting to 60 in a week or the lack of solo content will scare them off. I am just speculating but I would bet quite the sum of money how how bad the game hurt the industry.
Wasn't the most fun in MMO's hooking of with your RL friends or guild mates and just having a grand old time? The grind didn't matter. SO, yes I am dissappointed we are leaving this game and no it wasn't my choice of class unfortunately but continuing frustrations the others had ,as well as myself is completely understandable. I wish sigil/soe/brad would have held up the game of worked on optimizing first then hit the other things, but then again.........maybe it is another horizons in terms of bad coding and it may never be fixed....oh man i hope not.
Thanks for the suggestion though and sorry i rambled on but just wanted to let you know where we/i stood. Always better to get a suggestion rather than a flame or a troll.
not many people lvl 30 to 40? of course not the game has been out a month with a slow lvling system. how many people do u expect to b over lvl 30?
but yes i do agree the game should not b out yet. i feel pretty bad, i gave a buddy key to a mate (a pc tech) and at a chunk load he got a blue error screen that wiped his primary drive. thats what made him cancel his order of the game and will not play it again for 6 months. my brother has had 2 blue error screens at chunks and sweats over his machine rebooting.
i have gone to the log in screen from a chunkload, logged back in and was dead at an area i have never been to. i worry over every chunk load and am very relieved when i make it through.
This is somewhat valide for any game, even in WoW, it happened
Let's just rush every game to cap lvl and grind 24h a day so we can get super high lvl... and then get bored because
1. other players have a life and nobody is your lvl
2. the endgame is not ready.
3. you could always... gasp... explore/craft/diplomise a little, but no, you prefer to powerlvl ur way into oblivion... so please do us a favor dont come rant about how your powerlvling broke your fun.
and about the balance thing, u can only be one thing because really that the only thing that got really balanced in the last patch, you can only be a ranger who likes to one shot anything with a bow/xbow... like that was suppose to stay... chuckle...
I had 2x time the unfortunate experiance of getting blue screen, can't blame anyone else but meself cause this happend yesterday cause i was fiddling with settings and pushed most to the max/highest and then i crashed 2 times cause my system was not up to it, now i put the it on balance tweaked a few things in settings and like before no crashes anymore, do i feel i need to play this game at the max, well i would like too but afcourse the game does not have too, its my system that can't run it at max, wish it did but i might go for abetter system soon.

The settings shown on my screenshots are the settings that let me play the game almost lag free, zone's will give me lag for about 2/5 seconds and very populated area's it's my system trying to adjust the settings which can cause lag upto 5/15 seconds, but after about 20/30 seconds even in these populated area's lag drops to zero once everything is loaded. To set this post off with an attack: Judging by the absence of line breaks/paragraphs I don't think any of us are angry that you do not post here that often.
It is actually insanely easy to level in any MMO with a nice balanced team. Finding a group is the single biggest obstacle with the MMO genre and you pretty much had that handled so why wouldn't it take a short time to level up damn high almost a month and a half after release? I would pick your 2 hours a day and no weekends on any game (im doing 4 to upwards of 12 hours a day) if I had a guaranteed balanced team everytime I logged on.

...and, somehow, the "vanbois" don't have a problem with this...
It's the people that keep defending garbage like this that keep the game companies producing garbage like this.

That's pretty funny coming from someone who's sig says they're playing Shadowbane, of all things.
Hmm... 2 hours a day... no weekends...and your group was in the upper 30's and 40's...

Sorry but where in my post did you feel offended? Or do you think anything that I said in untruth, and about the comparing VG with Anarchy online, Horizon, and DnL please.... do you really think it's comparable, VG is buggy but playable, and in fact since i changed to a 8800 GTS i havent seen a bug and play with max settings, but i admite that when i played with my 2 6600 in SLI mode it was bug fest, dunno if it was their problem or mine tho... and more importantly VG is fun unlike the examples you set...
Please do inform me to where in my last post did i offend you beside stating the hard truth, so i can try to rectify my post accordingly.
SOE will be the devil in many ppl's eyes for years to come. Any time they attach there name to something there will always be ppl that will blame then for what ever is wrong with it no mattter who's fualt it really is. In all honestly i am suprised they don't consider a name change for the company.
Ppl don't want to realize despite how buggy the game is and how its not soe's fualt for ir...there wouldn't even be a VG if they didn't pick up the tab.
