At first, when I heard about The Matrix Online and how it would be another mmorpg in a long list of them soon to be released, I was skeptical. I am a big fan of the movies, especially the first one. I never thought much about the game and doubted if I would even try it out, due to the big hype of Everquest II and World of Warcraft (among others).
Well, I was wrong. I am fascinated by MxO. After reading the website info and a couple of fan sites, and looking at the official forums, it looks like the game has great potential. With some nice features and what looks like good gameplay, great graphics, a huge cityscape, a diverse mission/quest system, a lot of customixation, and Kung-fu!, MxO has moved to the top of my list. I can't wait.
The thing that really is interesting, and it is kind of funny and ironic in this day in age of mmorpg, is that when we sit down to play The Matrix Online, we will be doing almost exactly what Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus did in the movies. We'll be "plugging in", leaving the real world and entering a digital world much different from what we know. Our appearance will reflex a different image of ourselves, and in many cases, we will be different people altogether . . . some of us may even serve as agents for the machines?
From a roleplaying perspective, and I look at all mmorpg's in this way, it will be a great way for newbie roleplayers, or players who had been timid when roleplaying, to really get an easy opportunity to do some roleplaying and feel more comfortable with it, because all they'd have to do is be themselves. No need to take on another personality if you don't want to, you can be you, set free from your "real world", now an operative in The Matrix Online.
Supposedly, at the start of the game, we'll all be starting out the same way Neo did. We'll have to choose the blue or red pill. I can't tell you which to choose, only you know . . .

This game is one for the ages, i cant wate to get inside the matrix, pull up into a blank white area, and then have thousands of guns/items apear before me, also the idea of having skill "chips" that you can trade sounds great to me......one day you can be a matial arts master, you trade it, and next thingyou know your a master hacker.....plus knowing that you will be able to go in every building on every level with no loading sounds sooooo sweet! THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE

I'm a real fan of the Matrix and ive watched all the movies.....
Also the abilitys and many possibilitys in this game makes it what i like about mmorpgs....
I like MMORPGs the most because it is mostly a RPG genre and it has a great community....
Also they implented AIM into the game MxO that makes it a cool chatting system....
They've got alot of characters and a lot of ways you can go....
The cool thing about MMORPGs is is that you decide what you do with your character... You can choose to make it a warrior or a mage or other chars... You have the future of your char in ur hands... and thats a cool thing about MMORPGs...
And I am definetly going to play it if it has all of that....
((i hope i make it through the beta signups )
dose anyone know when this game is comming out, the monthly fee, and the battle system in this? if so send me a personal message plzzzz.

You must let it all go... fear, doubt, and disbelief.
Was hoping to be able to get into the beta but wtf only us/canadians that suxxors
But from the screenshots looks like it can be a very nice looking game.
There is no reason why you would not want to get this game. there is so much from whatte i have heard. the graphics look great, it is an ongoing and very good story if it is anything like its movies. If you get bored the missions there will be bars and stuff you can go to and you can talk to different ppl. so all together there is always something to do in this game andits not like a level up game, where all you do is level up lik ffXI. o affense to that game cause it looks okay, but nothing like MxO.it kinda pisses me off though that it is ganna take so long for its realease in November, i think.i hear if you are one of the lucky ppl. you can be an agent. now the only thing i dont know and want to kno is, whate is its monthly fee ganna be?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿
