blocked VGclient access

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Hi everyone,



I recently received a pop up asking if i wanted to block the VGclient when i was launching the game.  I accidentally hit yes now i cant get past the loading world server screen.  anyone else have had this problem or know how to fix?  I emailed station, but them folks is sloooow.

    That is an issue with your Firewall Software. Not with SOE or Sigil in any way.

    Either go into teh firewall and change it or wait until the update tonight, everytime i update it because it alters teh programme the firewall always asks if i want to allow access

    What firewall have you got on at the moment? that may help people tell you how to switch it off blocking VG.client

    currently using norton.  just turned it off to play, would be nice if those messages never came back up tho.

    I'm not familiar with Norton firewall, but there probably is a listing for which programs to block under Preferences or Options.  I'd guess you could find that listing and delete the VG item.  Norton would probably then ask you for your option the next time you start VG.

    Disabling anti-virus and firewall is generally not a good idea.

    If you have norton security then



    - open NORTON INTERNET SECURITY (NIS from now on) window (right click on norton icon all the way in the lower right corner and select OPEN NIS)



    - select NIS tab (on the left side)



    - that tab has unfolded, click on STATUS AND SETTINGS



    - from the right side, click on PERSONAL FIREWALL and from the lower right part of NIS window click on CONFIGURE button - a new window will pop up.



    - click on the PROGRAMS tab at the top of that new window



    - a list of programs will appear. Find the one that says VGCLIENT or something like that



    - to the right of that line u will see a drop down menu which (most likely) says BLOCK ALL. Click on it and select permit all.



    - click OK, close NIS window and play the game with firewall turned on.

    I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

    wow,

    thats great.  it seems to be good now with firewall and security on.  thanks everyone for the input and help!
