All I can say is Mythics customer service stinks to high heavan and I hope WAR brings a different attitude.
Wife and I just came back to DAOC after being gone a year. Both have played since 1 month after release. In the past month have had 3 problems and each time customer service has not only been lacking but extremely rude. Basically the attitude was they didnt care. Maybe thats why thier numbers are so low and the game is dieing. Again it wasnt with the decisions made but the attitude.
Sad because I love DaOC

That's weird... I think that Mythic's support is the best around, I have had few problems and I've contacted customer service atleast 4-5 times in few months and they've always answered politely and their advices have always helped. Maybe your problems had been posted before and those are at their customer support website but you haven't read them.

I haven't had issues with customer service either for the 4+ years I've played this game...until recently. Recently when I resubbed I had an issue and called tech supp. The guy was nice and professional, but a week ago I did an /appeal and it sat there in the /appeal que for several days until I finally just stop submitting. You used to get a response within an hour or so.
I'm sure DAoC's lack of customer service is because they cut down on CSR's since DAoC has a really small population. I am sure WAR will have a full staff of well trained CSR's.

Mythics position about not restoring a person's account/items when it is reported that it was hacked is disturbing.
I have a friend who is very computer literate, had 4 open DAOC accounts and he returned one day to find out they were all cleaned out. Mythic refused to help him since whoever cleaned him out (they knew who) had his account info.
Its like they've never heard the term keylogger or what they can do. (Key loggers ran rampant through WOW last fall, pretty much tied to the UI's that people had downloaded and installed. I'm willing to bet my friend got tagged by a keylogger for DAOC UI but Mythic didn't care.... (the char that his stuff was transferred to in each case was level 1, and quickly passed the loot to another character)
Anyway, the net result is my friend cancelled all 4 of his accounts....(after they had been open for over 5 years..even when he stopped actively playing)
I guess its Mythics call, but to throw away 4 accounts because you stubbornly refuse to admit that sometimes people lose their account information through no real fault of their own (ok they are partially to blame for using UI's) but still...it would have not killed Mythic to restore his stuff...Blizz does it all the time for people....

I see hm I been playing daoc from the alpha beta.
Support was good at the begining I played in US that time didnt have that
bloody much to add to support.
Then I moved to EU servers and darn Im english speaking and hm We got english support
team over there but 6 of 10 times you could get responses in french .
please download this fix [linked to a french file] Ok those who now computers knows what happens when you install the wrong language.
O another thing GOA change alot in the orginal game coding and scripting in the code so playing US and EU versions was a completly different game.
O Things who stand in the manual I could do wasnt possible on EU servers Was a living hell
try to submit a petition to french who uses babelfish to translate from english to franche vice versa shit I tell you was a pain.
O I played Earth and Beyond EA bought the corp who hade that they cancelled it
Mythics just got bought by EA and former Mythics ceo left shortly there after.

2. The CEO - Mark Jacobs still runs the company and is developing WAR.
3. The CS has gone down hill since SI. Is it worse the say SOE or WoW? No. Is it great like it used to be? No. This is what happens when a game grows and you bring in "professionals" to run the CS department. Things become far more strict and less friendly. This happens to all small companies that grow bigh whether or not it is an mmo or not. Just be thankful they are not in India.
The mails I received were polite, friendly and understanding and they refunded me the last month because I hadn't played that month.
So my experience with the DoaC CS is positive.
