Silkroad onlines skill system is one of its many strengths. Unlike WoW where you are severely limited by class Silkroad allows you to pick and choose your skills as you see fit creating any number of different types of characters. With 300 possible skill point allocations and 70 points needed to max out a skill tree theres a ton of different character builds possible.

Why are you dissing the F2P asian UI? Its just a slightly dumbed down version of WoW's UI.

The bots are the only real problem and they dont really get in the way all that much. There are quite a few bots in WoW as well.

Far as the community goes I think its fun to talk smack in a hardcore PVP game.

Well I just stated my opinion, you obviously like the game.

I still think both skills systems are flawed by the fact you can't freely choose what you want unless you ultimately underpower yourself in some way. Tons of character builds? I don't know if it has changed but do they still base magic off lightning, fire, ice and force? I thought that was pretty lame tbh espically when everyone advised me to choose fire so I can level up fast and gank later on, they also advised me to choose a certain type of weapon or I would be underpowered, spear I think it was. Also I failed to mention everyone looks exactly the same as in armour wise.... Also half of the population in the game just clog up the towns with stalls. The lag on the game isn't to pleasant either.

I dislike the UI that is why I am dissing it.

Yeah there are quite a few bots in WoW, just not near as many as in silkroad and you don't see one every 5 minutes.

I think the PvP is nothing but gankcore and smack talk is lame.

That is my opinion, put forth because the OP asked for it.

    Currently Playing: Everything but MMORPGs
Cancelled: L2, FFXI, VSoH, LotRO, WAR, WoW
    Looking Forward To: SW:TOR

I wouldn't go as far as accusing people playing WoW retarded, juvenile, or somehow lacking intellectual fiber, etc; but WoW certainly is finest example what groupthink in action could do to a given segment of demographic over a period of time.

For those who don't know what groupthink is it is a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' strivings for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of view or appeal to a more critical, evaluative judgement.

But then again this grouthink isn't exclusivity of WoW, it applies to SRO as well. Asking which question is more relevant, if such question exists, is pointless.

Marketing is a ploy to shift exactly this mode of thinking over given segment of population to one's favor for a price.

Hence when I say WoW is 90% marketing. 10% product. I do really mean it. It's not intended as figure of speech.

    Personal opinion:

WOW and silk road are both great looking games. but WOW is fun right from the start and silk road it doesnt seem to start getting fun until around lvl 50 with what ive seen. Both games are great though its just that WoW is great sooner then silkroad.silkroad is free though.

Both are the best of their class but the pay to play class is so superior its hard to even compare them.

I think everyone knows the pros and cons of wow.

But silkroad has some pretty cool gameplay elements if you can get past the fact its a pretty damn savage grind to get to the cool parts.
i'll dissagree to SRO the best free game just the most over populated (populated being an understatment) turf battles PvP is great once u get past the rough start of the game

Ive tried turf battles as well and even though it too has some cool gameplay elements i think silkroad is still the far superior product.

Turf battles is grindier theres not a cool premise for pvp theres even less customization the graphics are worse. The translations are worse theres a smaller weaker community that has less english speakers in it.

Given that both silkroad and turf battles are completely free the fact that silkroad has so many more players is a testament to its superiority as a game.
