Performance

One the most thing I enjoy about the this game is the performance of the game engine. I know it doesn't have the high end bump mapping like some other mmo's but it does use bump mapping in a very subtle way that doesn't bog down the machines performance.   The lower poly counts also have elements of imperfection , and that gives the world it's sense of life.



The technique that I noticed right away was the impostering done for distant trees. It is a very well done and smart way to speed rending without losing over feeling of the environment . It also really give that dense forest look in some areas like the ettenmoores  which makes it all the more breathe taking. I have al the setting for  object draw distance and Landscape draw distance , and the scenery just never gets old.



Hopefully I can run the hi res textures !

    The option can be turned off in options for those that don't like it as well.  I do like it, the game looks great IMO.

    Also, in case anyone hasn't figured it out, you can right click past any intro screens that don't have a loading bar (when starting game).  Helps you get in quicker if you don't like to wait.

    It would be nice to get a little bit further with the object drawinf, I did make a post about it on the Mainboard .  but I am pretty satisfied with how the game performs.
