It got deleted. Some people perhaps even got banned.
Now we enter the "mmorpg.com is paid by SOE to mute negative feedback" conspiracy theory mode.
hmm. I suppose a conspiracy is possible, but I would think there are more likely possibilities. lol. Is editing a Wiki article a taboo subject or were certain individuals that were just misbehaving and the thread got caught in the cross-fire? I obviously didn't get banned and no one sent me a pm about my posts, so I assume my posts weren't the problem.
I didn't always agree with you, but I thought I our discourse was civil and fruitfull to some extent. The goal of making the wiki article more accurate and complete seems to me to be a legitimate one, even if the result casts SOE/SWG in a more negative light.

I think the mods felt uncomfortable with the SOE/SWG criticism so they deleted the thread hoping it would go away. That's my best guess. Oh well.

Someone probably shat their pants when the news articles being listed were all agreeing with the majority of the negative feedback from the Pre-Combat Dumb-down community.
Isn't it funny that even after MMORPG provides a "Veteran SWG" area that we are still not to speak openly as a community or debate certain core issues that define our existence?
It is even funnier that people who completely disagree with majority Veteran views are allowed to come to the Veteran area and hound us while this area was created to keep us out of the current SWG community area so that we don't get in the way of positive feedback, if such exists.

My first set of changes to the SWG article on Wiki just completed. I even used MMORPG.com as a source on a couple of things. Over the course of this week, I'll also be adding more stuff on reviews and controversies of SWG and improving the attribution/sourcing. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Galaxies.
After I'm done, I'll then work on SOE, Smedley and Vanguard.
This way, LEC and SOE will have easier way suing them since their track record will already be completely documented. While your at it, you could also list all the copyright and trademark infringements they already commited.
After all, what bad can come from that, they're the good guys, right?

I don't want you silenced Rekul, just like I don't want Obraik silenced or anyone else who has an opinion but you already know this. If it makes you feel better, chase him from thread to thread and troll. The fact remains that he believes something that you do not and for that reason you think his ideas suck. Your point is made.
As for myself, I believe we have a right to voice our opinions as much as you do. The Pre-CU community is big, very big. We have been ripped off, we have been mistreated, we have been lied to, and yes a lot of places (including news articles) document a backlash that maybe you don't believe huge, but that Smedley himself said they will never want to face again and so they plan to never do sweeping revamps again. I would say that makes the backlash pretty big and our opinions worth enough to effect the people behind the backlash to some degree. So you don't agree with us or with pre-CU people, who cares?

Do you realize that in your quest for truth, you are setting up to hurt others. Seriously hurt.I mention swgemu, because they don't need publicity, all someone needs to sneeze and they go down in court. They don't even need to bring SW IP into this, DMCA is enough.
Singling out indivudals when you just as everyone else knows that leaders changed on SWG every 6 months is also pointless.
In quest for truth it's too easy to forget what the bigger picture is. There are some things which are better forgotten. That doesn't mean you should let all memory of what happened get wiped, but do consider *how* you do it, or you'll do more damage than benefit.
But I would strongly advise you to leave the emu things out of there. After all, it would be better to let the greatest fans of pre-cu continue unopposed, rather than suffer from some random third-party flak brought on them by some unrelated publicity.
You have done nothing more on Wiki than to make yourself look like the fool everyone on Wiki thought you were, bravo. As things go you probably will be banned and have the SWG wiki locked after they edit all the crazy garbage (and I do mean garbage) off.

Actually it's probably because I sort of Godwined the thread after Jonawiki compared the NGE to the WorldCom scandal.
It's weird the mods do stuff like that with no explanation.

Well, I think the article has improved substantially now. More sourcing and more editorial balance. But it's fascinating the extent to which SWG fanbois and ex-employees (like Jeff Freeman) will go in order to quash any ugly truth at every turn. It's truly an unfortunate propaganda war.
