Anyone Willing To Share Beta Account?

Hey All,

Although this is only my second post I have been reading these forums for a good few months and thought it was about time for me to bite the bullet and jump right in.

I have a very simple request. I originally applied to join the LoTRO EU beta the moment the link appeared on their EU portal and was hot with anticipation about the possibility of getting a beta account. I was ill for a couple of weeks with severe flu and when I came back to check the forums I found a real buzz for the game based on people's beta experiences. I immediately thought how lucky these people are that they got an account but it appears a large majority of the people who visit this forum have had some experience with the game.

I decided my best bet was to go on the LOTRO EU portal and attempt to find out why I wasn't considered for a beta account. I went to the section about applying for a beta only to find out that it appears my application was lost and I had to re-apply. Based on this i have had to assume that I was looked over for an account due to my application being lost (somehow).

I am obviously very upset about this because I was really looking forward to testing and trying this game before its retail release but I do understand that mistakes occur and therefore I have no hard feelings towards the web master maintaining the EU portal.

Basically what I am asking is whether someone would take pity on me and maybe organise a share of their beta account or even just let me have a go for a set period of time (an evening maybe [GMT]). I have no interest in stealing your beta account or any such thing, I just want a chance to try it before I pre-order it.

Thanks for reading

If I'm not mistaken it's open beta now? I think you can get in via fileplanet. :)

I tried registering the cd-key and I'm afraid it didn't work. Thank you for sending me it though, its nice to see that I wasn't flamed. Kinda expected it

Apparently open beta doesn't start for just over a month and you need to pre-order the game for it. I have over 10 MMORPG games at home that I bought before trying, never again.

You really don't need to get into closed beta.

In a few weeks (less than two I believe) the game goes into open beta. That means you can just download it and go nuts.

Closed beta is really just that. Closed beta. Changes are still being made and bugs are still being reported.

Open beta will be closer to what the game will be at release. So just a little longer.

It's probably just impatience on my part and if I hadn't of already applied for a beta account early and been let down by the EU portal webmaster then I wouldn't be asking now as its my own stupid fault for not applying.

I didn't really expect someone to jump up and say I could use their account but it doesn't hurt to ask does it

Of course I have no hard feelings if I don't get a beta account, but I thought I would just see if it was possible to try it out for an evening on someone else's account.

Fair enough. But if you are part of open beta you will not only get to try the game but also get to keep your character if you preordered... soon my friend, soon.
