    It's a classless system.

    It uses a skill tree.

You can unlearn you skills at any time and relearn them another way as often as you like without cost.

sadly, you wont find much from what Ive seen. Yes, there is ALWAYS a fight going in Vector, but if you are looking for more then that, you will find a wasteland of empty space.

With any luck, you will enjoy what you find though....

    REQS FOR PLAYING MXO:

    1 Have a HUGE EGO

    2 LIKE TO PVP

    3 HATE ANY NEW STUFF

    4 PLAY OVERPOWERED CLASSES

if you cant do any of those then i suggest you dont play mxo, unless you want to RP then just roll syntax and never level.

Though I am a Vector Vet, I will say this:

Do not make a character on Vector if you are new.

    Next thing:

    Make a character on Recursion.

There you will be able to interact with more players, older factions, and actually see story related content.  (Well..."Live Events" at least)

Do not be confused by content and missions.  Standards exists soley  to level you.  Zero will say otherwise, but we all know the actual reason.

After level 7 you will be confronted with a grind, or not playing.  If the game has peaked you, grind.  Kill mobs, stay away from missions unless you got some level 50 friends helping you.  Enter the Archives as soon as you can.

Start with the Operative tree, eventually branching out to Hacker.  Research Hybrid builds (doubt you will find much, but it sounds cool to suggest it).  Hacker and Op can be devestating if used right.

Next, you should be around level 23.  Here you will see your first real event, and you will then make the choice.  RP or Content.

While the game does have limited content, the available content is often recycled.  Sometimes in the form of Pandora's Box, or standard missions, or critical missions as well.  01 looks exactly like 10.

RP is great, when there are people that will RP along with you. Which is another reason for making a character on Recursion.  Unfortunatly, upon reaching level 50, or possibly even earlier, you will know for certain that there is no end game content.  All you play for is RP and useless and meaningless CQ points, should you choose to PvP.

EDIT - Once you are level 50 on Recursion, create a character on Vector, and have someone powerlevel you.  Look for xmagnusx, he has powerleveling down to a science.  Also, there will be many exploits that you can use to advance your character farther.  Search for them.

Standard mission do exist for levelling only as there is nothing else to them whether in the scenarios nor in the texts that might be any interesting or original.

I can't imagine to ever say anything different. Only a total idiot could. Oh, wait...

Actually, I don't quite understand why it's all so exactly on levels, like 7, or 23... why do you have to choose between content and RP? I just don't get it.

And to everyone, use exploits at your own risk :)

And everyone - if you do, tell the admins so they don't punish you

....and teething with sarcasm shall it ever be....

you dont have to choose between content and RP.  But you will eventually notice that there is no content unless you RP.  RPing is not for every gamer, and for a gamer looking to be entertained by content, this game will disappoint them.  These are stark truths, that eventually must be taken into account.  Unless you RP, there is no content to fuel a desire to play.  (You could also enjoy mindless PvP...)

Also, the levels were just for point of reference, not for actual truth.

    Sarcasm, or just fooling about?

Stark truths? That would include different preferences and interests.

The amount of content in the game is sufficient, if you aren't a hardcore (or less) player spending hours a day on this game. You can play other games. You can consume other forms of entertainment, or art. You can do something else at all.

I wonder if everyone perceives 50 contacts and 18 subchapters as too little, or nothing. Maybe a WoW player does, etc..

The content itself can be rewarding and satisfying to a degree if you are into the story (which is not to be confused with RP), the mission texts and scenarios they are supposed to tell.

To one, it's like 300 missions that you buy from some vendors and that aren't all too different from each other.

To the other one, it's coherent and interesting storyline.

Too little, too repetitive? Not the stark truth, only a part of it.

If you are into the story, then you are Roleplaying.  There is no difference.  Like I already said, the content is good the first time you run through it.  Then it becomes a bore.  The missions are all about reading texts, and completing the mission proves nothing.

You cant try to differentiate the story from RP, as for the story to exist, someone must be RPing...

Now we're just nitpicking about terms - but still, storywriting is not RPing as far as I know.

For the story to exist, someone has to think out and write it. For a game to exist... someone has to code it. You see where I'm going
