Recently I had a week of work sick & had plenty of time on my hands , so while flicking thru the assortment to chanels i have I stumbled onto Cartoon Network , being that my animation knowledge was limited to older cartoons like Astroboy - Prince Planet & Marineboy I decided to see what you kids watch these days , So I bundle up in bed with my favorite chocolate & beging to watch so god awful crap , My Pet Alien , Dexters Laboratory but things were looking up with an old classic Tom & Jerry 
then It happened they aired 2 episodes of a show called Naruto & wow even as an adult I Loved it .
The storie flowed even with just 2 eps , I was pulled into it & was forced to get as many eps as I could asap , first thing I found out was that there were only so many English episodes 75 or so but well over 200 with subs , I decided to get the english versions & now I have to wait a week for a new episode
it should be a 5 days a week cartoon now 1 episode a week ..

And i wouldn't really call it a kiddy anime either... its very light hearted yes.. but kiddy? i dont think so..
My favorite character thus far is probably Rock lee.. although they really nerfed him BADLY and now he kind of sucks... But he was always great... and Naruto of course..

Heck yeah! I agree Rock lee FTW! Now there's a real fighter in my book. I loved the fact that he's also a drunken master
btw: i wouldnt recommend the dubbed version, the voices suck + they edit violence. Like cut out blood, cut out juicy punches and that crap.They even wanted to edit the smoking of Asuma >.>. Trust me dl the subbed episodes and watch them till ep 135. Then go straight to Naruto: Shippuden.

It's just so fake , come on.. Ninja's in bright orange? Ninja's would not be pleased.
And whats with all that cel shaded crap, I don't get it whats it supposed to be anyhow? Some kind of moving artist rendering?

Im not into Anime, but i do find it amazing to what assortiment of people Naruto is liked.
I know both girls and guys from college who watch it, as do my little cousins.
To be honest I dislike those shows, mainly martial arts style (DBZ, Naruto, hell even Bleach) they are usually cheese shallow and crappy animations.
But then again you are talking to a 25 year old guy who catches Avatar with his little brother as if it's church time.
and the dubbed version does have blood in it.... and the voice acting has gotten much better..

It really is, I'm a grown man and I call it a children's masterpiece.
It teaches kids alot if you look deep into it.
That and HOLY HELL IT'S A GOOD SHOW.
I watched one show and decided it was my favorite toon of all time.
Kicked Kenshin's ass it did.
and the dubbed version does have blood in it.... and the voice acting has gotten much better.. well i rly hope that voice acting has gotten better, just want whats best for the naruto anime. Anyway yes it has blood but still half i edited away, at least so i heard from every single on of my m8's on the forum. I myself saw 10 min of a naruto dub and then turned off the tv. Cause in my opinion it sucked ass.As for Deidara beeing gay, yeah he prob is but he is still DA MAN

Edit: Not the "kid" gay, I mean they are feminine pretty looking guys, hell if I were an anime character, I'd think everyone was gay and all the girls were perma horney.

Samurai X while was awsome was in a way corney.
Don't get me wrong, I love the character and such, I've studied the real man and well.. he was a bit of an ass.

I can say it's close but I like Avatar alot better for one reason.
Avatar doesn't go "That it is" every 3 sentences.
He should of gotten sent to speech therapy sessions like I did for that, stupid reverse speak.
Then again what makes me upset is the DBZ style 30 episode battles that take place in SX while Avatar keeps it short, sweet and action packed...
And I absolutely hate Aang and the group running away all frickin day... running away... running away... But i guess its needed...
Anywyas they are both great and I couldn't actually ever compare the two because I enjoy both but for wildly different reasons.

I voted for Rock Lee. I like the story behind his character and thought his fight with Gaara is awesome. Although, in the new series I think I'd pick Gaara as my favorite character.
You really need to go back and see the first episode of Naruto. That had me totally hooked on the series. It has a lot of characters with different styles related to their village.
