Well, it certainly does answer a few questions. For example destructible environments are in, and how they will answer the old problem of a corpse and its loot disappearing under geography.

I for one can't wait for this game to be released. One big thing I liked about the video was the developer actually seemed interested in the game and was having a good time showing it off. Too often it seems like the dev is bored out of his mind while talking during the video. Both Mythic with WAR and Funcom with AoC have dev's that seem to be having a good time playing and describing the game world.
I've been a huge skeptic about their animations, but I have to say damn to the first part. They finally let someone play the game that knew how to do more than 2 different attacks. Those different attacks looked badass. I don't think the run animation looks very natural, but the attacking animations look about as realistic as you're ever going to get. He even moves his shield up as his sword is coming across.
Very Nice Work.
EDIT: In Part 2 they go back to that same hit over and over which is boring to watch.
Seriously if they have those kind of monsters in the game. WHY IN THE HELL ARE THEY SHOWING US THE CAMEL AND THE PYTHON CRAP????!!!

The jerky jumping around has me a bit worried though.

"The popping seen with the jumping was an issue with stacking movement in animations. Because our attacks move forward like in fighting games and also the dodge to the side moves you sideways. We fixed this but the guys are still demonstrating using a GDC build. So this is already taken care of so no more weird jump or camera pop." - Thursday, March 15
Are the PvP battles going to be BIG? by big I dont mean 50vs50 Im talking at least 70+vs70+
Well to be honest, because of the inclusion of formation combat, I'm really expecting the battles in this game to be on a scale we've never seen before in an MMO.
Infantry holding a line, protecting a formation of casters who are summoning a huge demon completely unaware of a formation of cavalry charging down on them from behind.

A scale we have never seen before ? O god no. Play EvE and enjoy the lag! In EvE there have been fights with over 600 players. The lag was horrible (crashing people everywhere, modules not turning on for minutes).
So if they want to create huge battles, I sure do hope that the whole system can handle it.

As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY true 'next gen' MMO. Consider my hyped at 10+. The game is getting more and more incredible - however I hope it will also cater well to ROLE PLAYERS. I know I read something somewhere that you can chill in a tavern, sittin at a table drinkin away and an NPC might pick a brawl or something like that? Bar brawl would be quite awesome! But I hope there will be a lot of player/world interaction --
Does anyone know if people will be able to have ships? Anyone hear anything about that?
The game could almost be like... '300 - the MMO'
Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

I don't believe there will be free travel with ships at launch. I am sure they will incorprate that sometime in the future though. There is also going to be a storyline within AoC that will be ongoing. So, I am positive that this game will also cater to Roleplayers as well. Funcom has been one of the best companies to include in game stories that actually make you feel you are making a difference in the world around you and I am sure they will continue that trend within AoC!
Thanks Redruum! You just helped further solidify my anticipation for this title!
I also LOVE how they start off with a single player game that moves into the massive world. Character customization, which is VERY important to me also seems really good - almost as great as Galaxies which as far as I can tell is still the best character generation in an MMO.
Have they revealed death penalties? I imagine in such a deadly world, there'll be plenty of dying hehe

I was in a tower battle once in Anarchy Online that had at least 200 people in it. The tower array was huge, probly 100 towers. It was back when you could attack the central tower to destroy the whole array, before you had to take down each tower individually before the control tower. I saw several GM's in Leet form walking around the battle. It was fairly lag-free. Comming into the area with the battle was terrible, but once you were in the mix it wasn't to bad.
And of course the Clanners won. We always did kick OT's arse in Tower PvP. The final explosion where all those towers blew up at the same time was spectacular, but boy did it slow down my system at the time lol.
But you're talking about a game with graphics that were hardly up-to-speed with the time period it came out. This is a game that is trying to set the standard for graphics and is ahead of the curve in that department.
They're going to have to sacrifice performance for the sake of the graphics that they're using.

It's Jørgen Tharaldsen FC's product director,it's only sound like Gaute Godager because most norwegian have a characteristic accent;P
The only thing I'm not sure about which is important to me which they havnt gone into detail about is this:

We can only hope they foresee an insane 300vs300 siege battle and prepared for it.
