OH MAN a patch and 6 hours of downtime... WHAT TO DO!!!!!!! i need more.... stupid patch.

Surprising that they would put in such a large patch with only 5 days until the wipe.... but then again, they do seem to be trying to make open beta launch day as smooth as possible and are really working hard now on class balancing issues and the economy.
This makes sense when you think about it, since many players who have a bad OB experience will never buy the game, so its really important to put the best code you can to retain customers... OB is more of a free trial period than anything else.... might as well sell the game the best they can.

Yea I got an idea. Last night I started to read LOTR books again. It has been about 10 years since I read them and since I have been playing LOTRO since Nov. and love the movies I am enjoying the books even more now. I have only read a couple hundred pages so far but it has made me realize how well Turbine has done with the lore in the game. Imagine that reading a book and it actually makes the game more fun to play.I am looking forward to the wipe and the update though. The wipe will give me a better chance to try another class like loremaster without feeling guilty for not using my main lol.
Oh and that re-reading the books was a great idea i think i'll do that. I havn't read them in close to 10 years.
What I am doing during update is going to work and it is perfect timing. I am a college art professor and just about to leave for class I get home at about 3:30 just in time to play. I can not wait for the wipe myself. I want to start really playing knowing my toons will not die a cold lonely wipe death. I would rather have them fall to the blade of an orc.
