Where is the space combat!!

Ok im looking for a space combat mmo. Basically I want sumint like jump to light speed, but with people!!!



Some thing populated plz.



Any ideas?



I have tried space cowboy but am looking for sumint else. Any ideas?

    Although it is gulping for it's last breath the Space combat in SWG was surprisingly good.

    you know EvE.  that's about it for populated that I know of.

    I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

    want sumint more sim like. Seems to be a big void in the market here imo.  Space combat rocks! Star Wars was gr8 because of 3 things, jedi, Xwings and Tie Fighters!!!

    I would love an mmo with x wing style combat. Eve is a great game I just wish I didn't feel like I was watching the combat instead of being in it.

    Have you taken a look at DarkSpace?

    The game itself might be getting old, but it has intense combat - there is no way you can sit back and watch the show as you need to control you ship and fire your weapons directly.

    The combat has a naval feel due to it being set on a 2d plane of movement, which actually helps ease the difficulty level of learning to fly your ships. We did toy with full 3d movement way back, but it turned out to be more of a trial than a fun experience, and fun > realism any day.

    You can see a player made video here, which highlights some of the game play and the basic story behind the game. Apologies for the poor quality of the footage... although I hope you like the music, because I wrote it :-)

    If you are interested in playing or trying the game out, you should probably be aware the the core game itself is free to play, but you are limited to flying scout and frigate class ships. You can still earn statistics and badges, but you will not be able to use them to gain access to bigger ships (Destroyer -> Station class) unless you redeem your 14 day "trial" coupon or subscribe. This can be done at your own leisure, and we actively encourage players to build up their profiles a little before redeeming the 14 day coupons...

    Being limited to flying small ships means you will not have as much firepower or armor as the big guys, but due to their speed and maneuverability they are a royal pain in the rear-end to try killing. A few frigates with capable pilots can take on the largest vessels in the game and win. We have quite a few members who in fact have never subscribed and they still enjoy playing...

    I hope you do try it out, and please don't be afraid to ask in the chat facilities or the game itself for help.
