That’s why I never play beta, the game is not giving you its best and you get bored more quickly than you would if you started at launch.
Sure you get to play for free, but if you can afford it wait till these games are launched, I will be enjoying my first six months more I am sure.

I wonder if is just that the fun factor has been established and the only things left to add are the little touches. SoR, AA, WWII Online, Roma Victor, Neocron are all examples of MMORPGs that are significantly different but are really not very popular, While WoW was a tremendous success and it is simply a polished graphical DIKU mud.

LoTRO really is fun but I am the first to admit that there is very little in it that has not been done previously in other games. The player generated music and the MvP as a major feature is about all that could be considered different. However it did take a lot of the cool features from a dozen different games and combine them into a single well polished package.

Why did you got rid of your fanboi sign Jackdog?

you mean the snoopy sig that said  "upsetting fanboys since 1997" ? I change sigs about once a month. Working on another one to replace this one soon.

You give up on Sigil fixing Vanguard yet and coming over to play LoTRO now?

    I'm not that crazy!

Sticking with my guns.  And i predict LOTRO will also required some fixing after it is release.

Sorry LOTRO peeps.  I'm out.  Just funny to see an "anti fanbois" acting like a "fanboi" ;)

~chuckle~ of course it will not be perfect and I am sure there is a floating tree or a stuck mob or a misspelled word in a quest somewhere. It has a good great overall design though, runs pretty smoothly on 99.9% of the boxes out there and looks damn good doing it. 99.9 % of the features work as intended. I started in beta 1 and the game was in better shape then than Vanguard is right now.

As far as fanboyism goes better go tell the Turbine Devs because they  probably think I am the devil himself on the beta forums, you think I bitched about Vanguard?  LOL you ain't seen anything compared to the posts I make on the LoTRO forums. I whine about everything that even slightly irritates me. However it has gotten harder and harder to find things to whine about as the beta progressed, not only that but Turbine actyally fixes bugs. I know that coming from Vanguard you will find that hard to believe, but no kidding some developers really do fix problems without causing even more in the process. Who knows, Brad and Sigil might could learn something there.

The big difference is that Turbine actually listens to it's beta testers and that is why 80% have pre ordered and the game will not be the train wreck that Vanguard is/was. It isn't perfect, but it is in one hell of a lot better shape than Vanguard. For example I hate that European/N American server split and I still want player owned housing.  I can live with those though because I know that the server thing is not gonna change and I think that the housing will make it in maybe in the first expansion. I am not exactly jumping up and down over crafting supply prices either but they are still making adjustments. Otherwise I am fairly happy with the game as it stands as of yesterday.

I wish you would try LoTRO and see how much fun a good game is but if not  then good luck with Vanguard, I see that todays patch un nerfed everything they nerfed last patch, who knows maybe one day Sigil will get a clue. I really doubt it but stranger things have happened.

    I miss DAoC
