HI,
my name is Zak, i'm 16, and i have quadraplegic Cerebral Palsy. I use a bank of switches to move the mouse pointer onscreen and to access my PC and play games.
I like to play mostly strategic games or advanture games because i cannot move that fast. I do manage to play Eve-Online ok, which is very cool!
What i am looking for are more Online games that are controlled completely by the mouse (point and click) and can be windowed so i can use my onscreen keyboard to chat or write stuff.
Can anybody help me??

Most of the asian style games are more designed around point and click then keyboard movement.
Things like Lineage, Guild Wars, etc.
I think you can even play pretty much most of WoW just using the mouse. Although you won't be as fast as someone who is using the keyboard to control their character.
Hope that helps some.
Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)
Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)
Lineage II is definitely a good game to play with a mouse and in windowed mode. Also, COH/COV are good games for the same reason. My brother is a pro at both, and he is unable to use two hands. He only uses the mouse. But sometimes it could be frustrating.
I'd say Lineage II is best, but I'm also playing a fee game called Rappelz Epic III (http://rappelz.gpotato.com/). This game is quite good for a free game, probably the best one out there. All mouse and can be put in windowed mode. Hope this helps.
Favourite Game
SWG - Sabanak, Retired Jedi, Bria
Playing: Nothing
Waiting for: SWG Pre-CU
Retired: SWG, CoX, Vanguard, MxO, Guildwars, Archlord, Auto Assault, EQ2, Final Fantasy XI,
Lineage 2, Saga of Ryzom, DAOC, WoW, AOC, WAR
Yea you can totally play WoW w/just a mouse, it has options for point and click movement.
Lineage II is also mouse-able and probably slower - paced than WoW, but expect a lot of people to try ganking you.
edi** he plays a warlock. i dont think he has any other classes tbh.
Lineage 2 (which I hate with a passion)
Guild Wars
WoW
Eve Online.
Are all one handed games, especially if you have a mouse with plenty of buttons and know how to set up a plethora of macro's
As others said, there are a few games you can play. I will quote them bellow and say a few things about them to maybe help you decide.
1) Lineage II: This is an open pvp game. It means, pvp is throughout the game and not in consensual zones so expect to maybe be killed often. Chose this game only if you like pvp. Nice graphics, a little outdated, but the major factor here is PvP. If you like it, if not. Oh and it requires a lot of grinding. I wouldn't say it's so friendly for the casual gamer.
2) GuildWars: This game is mostly instanced in it's pve side. Very nice graphics. Nice implemented PvP in a form of battlegrounds/consensual co-operative PvP. Also free to play once you buy it. Good for casual gamer as well, quite fun, at least for some time.
3) Eve online: Nice game taking place in space, you actually "command" space ships. Open pvp environment again like Lineage but has a form of safe zone (the empire space). So it's up to you what you want to do. Nice graphics, good for casual gamer. Skils advance not with grinding but as the (real life) time passes by.
4) World of Warcraft: I can not comment on this game as I haven't played it myself.
Hope I helped.
I really can't belive anyone is suggesting Guild Wars. GW is a PVP game and very face paced. I would not suggest it to someone like the OP who can't move very fast. It will just be a waste of his money since he will be eaten alive, do to no fault of his own.
From my experience in WoW, there are classes where speed is not of the essence and there are mods to make the thing completely point and click.
Other than that, pretty much any asian grindfest is a good choice, plus most are F2P so you can try them out without spending too much on them.
Although, EVE is the ultimate thinking man's MMO.
I'm going to have to second this right here. Macro's are any good gamer's best friend. Though, Tyfreaky is probably talking about ingame Macro's, I'm talking about full fledged scripted .exe macros.
Download Auto-It, it's a macro creator that will help out alot.
Basically, you can program a whole series of any computer action into a macro and access it via a single keystroke. Very useful.
A Work in Progress.

Shanky, I had a few chars in GuildWars and among them a healer.
I had a very nice skill setup on him that I could practicaly just heal myself if I was attacked doing minimum kiting (running around a little). I recall having no big pressure on him to force me in a fast pace of playing that char during combat., hence I suggested GuildWars. I'm sure if he plays the game he can find his own pace, if not, he can always try another.
One more reason why I suggested / agreed with those suggesting GuildWars is that in PvE you can have minions. Even though you will not be able to do the "hard" maps/zones with minions but you will be able to do plenty of them with them. What does it mean? It means that he can play a great part of the pve side of the game in his own slow or not pace.
I remember I could just slowly playing a map with my minions at times while watching a movie, eating or whatever.
Playing: Everthing
Played: DAoC,AC2,EvE,SWG,WAR,MXO,CoX,EQ2,L2,LOTRO,SB,UO,WoW.
I have played every MMO that has ever come out.
Regarding Auto-It, I'm not sure how strict or not some games are regarding use of macro 3rd party programs. I would be careful if I was you.
However there are *devices*, mouses with many buttons or other gaming devices that have a lot of buttons and can be set up to have a lot of macro's to help you in game. Most of these devices (if not all) are considered legal by the Devs of the games so they are not bannable.
The only way to really get banned from a game with them is to have the Macro itself open up the game. This will send a red flag to the staff of the game. (that's how ppl got banned with the WoW Glider) But, if you're just doing an honest macro that merely helps you ingame, then there is no need for the macro to open it. If you're designing a full fledged bot, then that's a different story.
A Work in Progress.

I don't have too much to offer here but I think even Vanguard is a viable option.
While there are still problems/bugs/hardware issues the exploration aspects are quite fun and mouse control doesn't seem to be a problem. You might want to look into this game at some point.
On a side note: I want to commend the MMORPG community for actually contributing to a post in a healthy manner. Refreshing.
rappelz, lineage 2, flyff, lineage I.

I'm a 30yo gamer who's very WASD dependant. I love the speed at which I can react and move within a game using strafe and mouse. However, my father although not a handicapped person is extremely lazy.
I get so mad watching him play WoW...I just have to walk away from him. I have setup keybindings for him and arranged all his attacks and macros to easy to reach positions on the keybaord...and yet. He's just too lazy to use them. He likes to kick his heels up on the desk, and play with the mouse only. And, he gets ganked more often than I or many of you players in these forums might... he actually does get to kill a lot of players anyway. He mouse clicks every attack on his shortcut bar, and uses the mouse to move too. It's a long way short of the full potential the character has to offer, but it is most certainly playable.
EVE is fun, I have 3 active accounts in EVE. WoW is fun too, I have 2 active accounts in that as well. Whilst EVE is great fun, it can be a little slow at times. WoW can give you some instant gratification for fast paced PvP and raids. It's a good contrast, and my father certainly has a good time playing it...one handed
As i'd like to help for any of the posters:
Zak is a quadropeligic (sp?) Quad meaning that he/she can use NO hands....
so anyone that says play wow b/c it is a One handed game..... keep in mind that Zak either doesn't have or can't use his/her hands.
Shadowbane! Great free PVP centric game... i think the only time i used the keyboard was to switch between characters ( i 4 box'd on one computer this game). I'm pretty sure it can be windowed too...
As for newer games, i'm not too sure... i think vanguard can be window'd but not sure
Ragnarok Online! can't be window'd but you can play w/ only mouse.
Good luck !
Best wishes and prayers
I think we're all well aware of what quad means. But clearly he is able to interact with something which uses mouse or mouse-like function. Whilst I myself am not sure what exactly the "bank of switches to move the mouse pointer" is, I thought he might perhaps use his mouth to control a joystick of some kind to replace a mouse.
It is difficult to know exactly how he plays, but I think you'll find we're just trying to be polite and offer ideas to consider. I know I used an able bodied person in my post as an example.. but he's so lazy! He truly moves the mouse slowly, and clicks things even slower. I was just simply saying that you can play WoW slowly. Maybe not slow enough? I don't know.
