this is going to sound kinda stupid but. I had always hoped George Lucas' son had taken a liking to his creation. Started to play SWG Pre-cu, hell even CU. I would have hoped when the NGE came in he'd be like. Omg Dad look what they did to your game. And the Lucas would have been like. "Omfg" and make a few phone calls. And boom, Pre-Cu servers

Way back around the time of launch there was a poster who claimed to be the actor Jamie Farr (most remember him from M*A*S*H*).  At the time it seemed rather convincing so take that for what it's worth.

That guy from scrubs played. They interviewed him at some spike tv game awards and asked him about madden and if he played, he said no but he was a big SWG gamer, and looked like he was gonna cry cause it was just after the NGE...

Yep, and there's a video of how things went down after that. Jack Black as himself, pre-cu is obviously his precious, and SOE played by Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Donald Faison from Scrubs admitted to playing SWG once.

3/4 through this video.  http://www.g4tv.com/videos/index.html?video_key=10069    Kinda funny because it started a rumor that SWG was going to be ported to the 360. BTW just click Launch the pile bottom and it will play.

On the other hand, maybe one day Jet was sitting in the Lucas family private THX home theater, playing xbox on the 108" HD plasma screen, when he looked to George and said "Gee, Dad, this sure is fun.  Think you can have your peeps make SWG more like a console game?."

I heard Jeff Freeman was inspired by Ashley Simpson when he designed the NGE.  He said well she is a cheap rip-off of her sister the NGE can be a cheap rip off of wow.

I heard from a few different sources that Kevin Smith sometimes used to play a toon on Bria.

I remember a thread like this a long time ago on the original forums and someone wrote

"Not tonight Ang, I've got a base defence"

I heard that as well. But before I heard that rumor I think he also played on Bloodfin. Back when I was new and really knew nothing of the game I met a guy named TheWiseOne. He wasn’t really a newb but he ran some missions with us. I met him while me and a buddy of mine where out doing missions outside Anchorhead. He rode up on his swoop and started circling backwards around us clowning as we were trying to kill a lair. I had a hard time focusing because I was laughing so hard. Just when it looked like we where gonna get our asses kicked he asks if we needed help and joined our small group. I think he was Master Brawler or something, not high level but he was higher than us. Later we went up to the cantina and he started clowning, messing other players that thought they were uber, (goofing around pissed people off) ect. I don’t remember what he said but it wasn’t cruel, just funny. I remember a player wanted to duel him because he was being such a smart ass “duel me you fat ass”. He just kinda shrugged it off and said whatever. His toon looked just like Kevin Smith (beard, short, chubby with a black duster resembling KS’s trench coat he wore) though I don't think he was purposely trying to make it obvious. At this time there was no rumor that he was playing the game but I asked him just out of Jest if he was Kevin Smith. He started spamming “who's Kevin Smith?" (at which point I thought maybe it’s not, but this guy is a goof) Then finally he said "you're right I'm Kevin Smith" "don't tell anyone". Not to say that it validates anything but for some reason I had this idea it was, just based on some of the things he said and how he acted. I don’t think my other friend even knew who Kevin Smith was; he just thought the guy was funny. At the time if I remember Kevin Smith was mostly appearing on Jay Leno doing those Travel skits where he goes around the US visiting points of interest and meeting the locals and clowning around. I find it funny that this is even a rumor in the first place since I didn't make a big deal about it. Perhaps he did play on Bria since he did come and go from Bloodfin a lot, and at the time people did a lot of server bouncing. Bloodfin was mostly full of leet players who PvPd a lot, Bria was more of a melting pot of different play styles. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I assume it could very well have been him.

George Lucas' daughter played when it first came out. I will probably have trouble finding the reference. I also remember it was aired on CNN during a long piece (+5 mins). That is how I got my character's screen name, I named it after the CNN anchor covering the story.
