What?
Once you get your skill level up to close to the max that you are able to get at your particular character level, then you'll be hitting at a normal rate. Until then, stay away from things that can kill you.

Kerika: I know it is confusing, but he is speaking of 2h weapons, not dual wield... at least most people understood like that.
OP: the miss chance with an 1 handed weapon and a 2 handed weapon is exactly identical and depends on your weapon skill as many other have told you already.
The only difference is 2 handed tend to be be slower so if you are unlucky and get a miss dodge parry miss string, it will feel like forever.
The other side, of course, is that 2 handed are best with insta attack (like mortal strike) as they do have more damage than a 1 handed weapon.
in the case you were talking about Dual Wield, IE: using 2 weapons at the same time, then know that dual wield has purposely a much higher miss chance to balance it out.

Im a dual wielding fury specced warrior and i miss about 5% of the time, i keep my two handed axes up all the time by swppoing between them when i can. This definitely sounds like a weapon skill level problem, not only will you miss most of the time but you will do less damage to players and mobs of your current level.
Take the advice and go to a lower level area and go grind that skill level up (a bit of advice go grind against mobs with high armour and HP)
