this is ridiculous Ridiculous like, "we were all away on vacation so we couldn't do anything about it" ridiculous? Or simply ludicrous, like when children pulg their ears and pretend that something isn't happening... which one?
it happened now almost a year agoI would double check your timeline. The general public have only recently been made aware of this - as in the past few months.
deal with itWe are dealing with it, by posting on the forums.
move onWe have moved on. Much like people have moved on from many events in their life. Fortunately moving on does not mean that people are unable to continue to discuss things.
or leave the gameDo I have to?
enough has been said and we now all know what happened Then why did the OP as the question? Obviously some people still have questions to ask. Afterall, we can't all have all the answers and perspectives.
hasn't stopped almost double subscriptions in the past year has it Where did you get this 1 year timeline? When questioned about how this would effect the subscription rates CCP executive themselves said they wouldn't see that for several months yet, and it would be hard to see it in the numbers. Obviously you have some misinfomation as well on the issue. Seems perhaps you need to ask some questions
Soooo what you say here Lordslater is that SirMolle is CCP staff ??? yeah that must be it, because in your word you say that Kug got banned because he revealed real life information about SirMolle, while SirMolle did not get banned because Kug is not a member of CCP. Err when i say member of ccp im refering to the Eula applying to you while you are a subscriber sir mole was not banned because KUG was no longer a member so the Eula no longer applied to him. And posting such details while not a bannable offence would have deserved a tempory forum ban in my opinion. Now ... you do know that Kug did NOT reveal any real life information I actually said in one of my post in this site that he revield account details about any CCP staff members, and in Kug's own word he did get banned because of 2 things.... 1) Revealing real life information about a player on the official forums This obviously breaks the EULA, and 2) costing CCP money (don't remember exact how this was written Neither do i ). You seem to ahve forgotten the bit about revieling account details to expose T20 which is in violation of the EULA.
I think you need to re-read what i posted because it seems you are making some very far reaching mistakes in my meanings. Bear in mind the EULA is eve's official code of conduct which you ahve to obay or risk getting the Ban stick KUG broke them in a big way by hacking palyers accounts and getting there details. Sir mole avoided this by waiting till KUG was banned and therefore not a member so therefore not protected by the eula.
You seem to ahve forgotten the bit about revieling account details to expose T20 which is in violation of the EULA.
This is a lie.
It isn't in the EULA. No where does it say, "Thou shalt not give the character identities of the CCP staff."
Fanboi lies.
The EULA is available to all. I encourage anyone to go download it and read it. This is a good solid example of the "proof" that Lordslater has brought to this forum time and time again.
Didnt a former gm get fired because he spawn a bunch of faction stuff and went into 0.0, and that he banned the account of the pirate(s?) who blew him up?
i also think sirmolle should have been punished for posting information on another player in the forum, sorry but i dont like people publicly giving away personal information
Yea it happened it was quite funny how it was discovered tho.
Basically he went into empire to buy a scorpion for his PvP fun and then he foolishly filled his cargohold with Ultra rare stuff, and he then traveled into 0.0.
Then he got ganked at a gate
When the pirates saw what was in his cargo hold they imediatly guessed what happened [Because the stuff that was there was in insane impossable ammounts for 1 guy to collect in his life]. And they informed the senior GM's.
To answer Questions concerning the Eula from certain persons here is a part of it that should be of interest.
TERMINATION; SUSPENSION OF ACCOUNT
A. By CCP for Termination of the Game
CCP does not guarantee that it will continue to offer access to the System or support the Game. CCP may, in its sole discretion, cease to provide any or all of the services offered in connection with EVE™ (including access to the System and any or all features or components of the Game), terminate the EULA, close all Accounts and cancel all of the rights granted to you under the EULA. CCP may communicate such termination to you upon 30 days notice in any of the following manners: (i) when you log into your Account; (ii) in a notice on CCP's website; (iii) via electronic mail; or (iv) in another manner that CCP deems suitable to inform you of the termination. If CCP terminates the EULA pursuant to this section, you will not receive a refund of prepaid subscription fees.
B. By CCP for Breach or Misconduct
i. Suspension of Account
Without limiting CCP's rights or remedies, CCP may immediately, and without notice, discontinue or suspend access to the System through your Account, and any and all other Accounts that share the name, phone number, e-mail address, internet protocol address or credit card number with the discontinued or suspended Account, in the event of (i) a breach of the EULA (including the Rules of Conduct) by you or any user under your Account; or (ii) unauthorized access to the System or use of the Game by you or any user under your Account.
ii. Termination of EULA
CCP may terminate the EULA, close all your Accounts, and cancel all rights granted to you under the EULA if: (i) you fail to pay the subscription fee when due; (ii) CCP is unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide; (iii) you or anyone using any of your Accounts materially breaches the EULA, makes any unauthorized use of the System or Software, or infringes the rights of CCP or any third party; or (iv) CCP becomes aware of game play, chat or player activity under your Account that is, in CCP's discretion, inappropriate or in violation of the Rules of Conduct. Such termination shall be effective upon notice transmitted via electronic mail, or any other means reasonably calculated to reach you.
CCP reserves the right to terminate any and all other Accounts that share the name, phone number, e-mail address, internet protocol address or credit card number with the closed Account. Termination by CCP under this section shall be without prejudice to or waiver of any and all of CCP's other rights or remedies, all of which are expressly reserved, survive termination, and are cumulative. You will not receive a refund of prepaid subscription fees for a termination pursuant to this section.
Either of those would cover what KUG did. And it supports what i posted concerning why Sir Mole was not banned too.
Just further to what I posted above - I can't seem to find a copy of the EULA online. Does anyone have a link? Lordsalter, I'm assuming you don't since you are such a fan of misquoting it... anyone else?
I want to actually look through this thing so that the Eve Fanbois don't continually shut us down with their lies about what is and isn't in the EULA as has already been done in this thread (and others)

Its easy just go to the eve website and use the search feature by typing EULA.

Na-ah-ah Fanboi... Kug released T20s name. T20s real life name. Not his account details. So one of 3 things here: 1) You are confused about what he released, 2) You are confused about what "account information" means 3) You are trying to do some fanciful back pedaling.
In the case that it is 1) -- Kug never released T20s log in credentials. If he did, the Ban him, burn him, do whatever, he broke the EULA. I would be right there with you.
In the case that it is 2) -- Account information doesn't include your real life "name" -- if it did then anyone would be banned anytime someone called anyone by their real name on TS, or in chat, or anywhere. You had your real life name long before you joined eve, and you will have it after CCP royally screws the game and the servers shut down. Your real life name, sorry to say mate, isn't your account information.

So tell me, Fanboi (and I think I will stop calling you that now, because it seems that you have stopped calling people "Troll" randomly, which was the only reason I started)... where does it say that it is a bannable breach of the EULA to give the RL name of a CCP employee? I'm looking forward to reading that. Because I know a bunch of names... I know, for example, Hellmar's name - I think Oveur posted it... BAN HIM!!! BAN HIM!!! And Kieron, I know his name... and Oveur... hell - I know lots of CCP names... so please - show me the money.
In anycase, thanks for your replying. I have a full pot of coffee... looking forward to our conversation!

Well now ill ahve to point out to begine with im not a lawyer so when i say the following bear this in mind. Now when for example you read the red section of the extracted EULA section notice how Vague and generall it is for example -(iv) CCP becomes aware of game play, chat or player activity under your Account that is, in CCP's discretion, inappropriate or in violation of the Rules of Conduct - Now we know because KUG admited it he basically sold infomation he hacked from alliance servers and suchwhat to people in eve. Now this can be seen as inopropriate action via the chat and use of his game account. Now i think you will agree that if you stretch the emaning of this apssage it can be amde to cover that KUG did as he used his game account to set up meetings with customers and to post links chatlogs etc in return for isk the information itself being from an illegal [real world] source.
Now after reading the eula you will see that a lot of its sections are very broad in its definitions this is so that it can be used to jsutify practically any percieved infringment of the EULA and could then be used to justyfy an apropriate punishment.
Now i also belive that on KUGS site you can find the head GMs E-mail expalining what sections of the Eula was broken to justyfy his ban. I however wont go there as last time i did my virus guard blocked a trojan so i wont go there again - sorry.
It should be farly easy to find if its still there.
Forgot to add unfortunatly i cant drink Coffe as the cafein affect my Dialysis So im sleepy So i most likely wont reply to you till say tomorrow evening till then have fun with whatever you do to have fun.
Kieron himself have stated that Kug did break the EULA and that is why they banned him, however he can't go into specific details so that you have to read on kug's homepage and there you see the two reasons Kieron did use to ban Kug.
CCP can't ban a player for out of game actions.... that is also something CCP have stated somewhere in that 106 page thread or when the new IA guy did respond in his thread.

You are arguing a different point now - one that I am not disagreeing with.
Before when you were arguing that Kug was banned because he released T20s name I disagreed.
Now you are arguing that Kug was banned because CCP is able to legally interpuret some of his actions, which they won't release, under the broad wording of their EULA. I can't argue against that any more then you can argue for it because although CCP released to KUG which points of th EULA he broke (which they then later revised to him) they didn't release the details of the instances of when these "breakings" took place.
CCP are the sole authors of the EULA (which you pointed out, and I agree, is written broadly). Out of all parties they are the only ones that know which instances they are interpreting under the EULA, and the are the sole interpreters of the EULA. Neither of us have the information to argue for or against the specifics on why KUG was banned.
All I was calling BS on was your claim that their was some clause in their saying he couldn't release T20s name, which there isn't.
As for my coffee addiction - the call of sleep ended up being too powerful. Sorry to disappoint.

I largly agrgee here with you......gives you a moment to recover from the shock........Tho i think and im not going to look that i never specifically said T20's real life name. other than that i agree with you and just so you know when this thing irst came to light i was a bit like you a eve fanboi that felt a little betrayed. Now tho i feel this is like poking a dead horse so i think ill stiop posting in this thread as its become somewhat pointless subject wise.
this is ridiculous Ridiculous like, "we were all away on vacation so we couldn't do anything about it" ridiculous? Or simply ludicrous, like when children pulg their ears and pretend that something isn't happening... which one? Neither, I just don't understand why it has to continue to be discussed in such a negative way, for example to people posting telling others not to post. CCP dealt with it..agreed the dev should have been "released" at the time but they explained the situation honestly so I don't thik we should be telling potential players not to sign up.

move onWe have moved on. Much like people have moved on from many events in their life. Fortunately moving on does not mean that people are unable to continue to discuss things. Indeed but as above with the over negative stuff to potential players

enough has been said and we now all know what happened Then why did the OP as the question? Obviously some people still have questions to ask. Afterall, we can't all have all the answers and perspectives. A simple explanation like I think the second post was enough, I'm just mentioning theres no need for the flaming and anti-CCP stuff
hasn't stopped almost double subscriptions in the past year has it Where did you get this 1 year timeline? When questioned about how this would effect the subscription rates CCP executive themselves said they wouldn't see that for several months yet, and it would be hard to see it in the numbers. Obviously you have some misinfomation as well on the issue. Seems perhaps you need to ask some questionsI've explained the 1 year whatsit, but I will agree with you there I now realise as it was made completely public by CCP about a month ago now the next couple of months will be interesting, although from browsing the various forums apart from one or two I'm getting the impression people are more looking forward to the fight against BOB as they were obviously key benefactor with this issue.
TBH I believe this has created more publicity for CCP and EvE and I believe the subscriptions will go up when people come to see what the fuss is about

I'm making a film about Developer Corruption at CCP and other online MMORPG corps. It is due for broadcast in the UK on Channel 4 in August 2007. I have 30+ contributors already, including formers devs, employees of CCP and long-time players in MMOs and MUDs.
If you would like to be interviewed for a TV programme which exposes CCP as a corrupt organisation, exploiting gamers, or would like to expose any other MMORPG, please contact me, and I will arrange a paid interview including your travel costs.

pathetic? why yes you are.
If you could pay attention, and stop confusing real life with a game, then people would tend to think you are not so pathetic.
CCP is a company in real life.
CCP employees took sides in the game they are the masters/managers of, they then cheated, showed favoritism, refused to enforce the rules on their friends. CCP then went on a spreee to cover it all up and censor anything related to their misdeeds, but the truth was out and ccp look like fools...all true things, but all you do is tell lies and blow smoke...confusing a game with the real life issue of supporting a company that lies and cheats its customers, then tries to silence the truth of what they did.(sure sounds like a minor league enron scandal huh)
CCP has the freedom to answer the questions asked on these and other forums, they won't be able to delete at will those post that embarrass them though, so I wont hold my breath, but do give them the chance to speak for themselves instead of being a fanboi troll.
ccp the "we cheat for our buddies and are proud of it" company...

Cheers.

In the beginning the Universe was created,
This made a lot of people angry,
and has been widely regarded as a bad idea.
GUYs,
I'm making a film about Developer Corruption at CCP and other online MMORPG corps.
Good luck though
LoL that made me laugh all this guy can do it seems is troll and flame.
And now he claims he is some bigshot TV guy......PAthetic isant it

pathetic? why yes you are.If you could pay attention, and stop confusing real life with a game, then people would tend to think you are not so pathetic.
