Any ideas of what game i should play next?

_Neon__Neon_ Member Posts: 24

I've played Asherons call 1 & 2, Eve online, anarchy online, dark age of camelot, earth and beyond, and im beta testing a couple of games now. i only regret that i tried daoc, what a waste of time.

I was thinking about lineage 2, i have downloaded the client but after reading their forum it doesnt seems like a good game. lots of booho this and booho that. Is the game really that bad?

Asherons call 1 is no doubt my favourite game so far. I spent almost 3 years on it. :)

Any other games _good_ fantasy mmorpgs out there thats not way to old?

Star Wars Galaxies is worth a try.

Good graphics, a nice helpful community etc....give it a shot. Soon there'll be an addon making it possible to fly in space and stuff.

I stopped playing it, cuz I didn't like the job-system (not changeable number of skillpoints) and that there are no real level-ups . Except for the sign "Has mastered...." and maybe some more money there's imho no really difference between newbies and powergamers (the only way to rise your health bar etc. in a noticable amount is to let doctors "buff" u (but that isn't cheap and doesn't last long) Some armors can't even be worn without that. If u want to learn sth. else u have to drop the other skills, which means u almost start again at the beginning. So after mastering Bountyhunter and Smuggler I quit, 'cuz surrendering skills makes me feel like i only wasted my time.

Still I'd recommend it to casual players, 'cuz of the great community and the many different jobs and classes. image

so far, every old time AC1 player I've known go looking for a new game has...

Gone back to AC1.  You can try FFXI or Horizons, or Lineage2 or what ever you want, but nothing has the same kind of hook as AC1 had.

When all else fails, Poke 'em in the eye with a good sharp stick.

yay i've been EQ and FFXI and UO, now im going to AC

I've never played AC1 or 2, so I'm not familiar with the game mechanics.  However, when it comes to fantasy mmos, it seems the one we played first becomes our benchmark for all others.

Although I had played several online games, my first big one was Everquest.  When looking for a new game, what I read about the mechanics of AC and UO didn't attract me.  DAOC did.  As a result, I loved DAOC.

I've since tried UO and quit within the trial period.  I just constantly had the "this makes no sense" feeling.  I suspect I would have done the same with AC.

I tried AO and I liked it somewhat, but I never felt comfortable in the post-modern setting.  Just something about fighting with assault weapons and nanos rather than swords and magic just doesn't do it for me.  I can honestly say that I'll probably only play high (midieval) fantasy games in the future.

I'll keep playing DAOC because even though I'm ready for another game, none of the current ones intrigue me enough to try them.  My next game will probably be EQII, then maybe Vanguard: Saga of Heroes in 2005/2006.

I was thinking about buying Everquest: Evolutions ($30), which includes the first five expansions and playing around with it until EQII is released.  There have been so many changes in EQ that it just might be worth trying again although it is still not a soloer's game.

    Good luck finding something interesting.

Seems like im going for Lineage II until something other comes along. but im afraid i wont find any game as Asherons Call 1. Not sure if i want to go back to AC 1, after canceling 5 accounts that i spent 3 years on building up.

    Thanx for the reply's :)

Lineage II is the worst piece of crap. The game would have been ok, if it was released at the same time of EQ, but it didnt. Lineage II is boring, it has the most stupid controls, the combat is repetitive, the graphics are decent, but the combat animations looks like pokemon, very few character selection options. Besides that, the game is just a Diablo II clone with more players. Normally i respect peoples taste, but this game is ridiculous. I suggest that you DO NOT BUY LINEAGE II.

Head over the city of heroes.Stable game with few bugs.Brand new.Fresh idea,Fast pace.Very mature community(spent 1 hr last night talking politics lol) and friendly. There is a grind but not as bad as many games and actually fun doing it.But there is no uber loor or crafting so if thats what you want from a mmorpg steer clear of it.
