How much does everyone wanna bet that at least one of these two games will have a rough launch (bugs, crashes, lag, etc) ? And then a large portion of their potential play base will run off angry, cussing, whining, moaning, and never return to the game... but continuously post negative stuff on forums in the hopes of "saving someone else from wasting their money"??
Just like what happened with AO.
Just like what happened with SWG.
Just like what happened with Dark & Light.
Just like what has recently happened with Vanguard.
Just like what happened with countless other MMOs.
As much as we all want to plan to play some awesome new game in the future, history shows that we'd be wiser to wait and just see what happens and how each does through the first month or so of play. A good number of people will probably find themselves playing something entirely different than what they envisioned themselves playing many months before launch of these new games.
The good news is that there will probably be at least a half dozen other good games to choose from as a backup. The backups may not have been your first choice, but you'll probably end up having just as much fun playing them as you would have playing the AOC or WAR game you're hoping (dreaming) for now.
Playing WoT now.

They are going to have a fine launch, the said that the projected launch was for Q4 of 2006 and said they would not release it unless it was polished, as they did not feel the need to release it and have players get a bad experience. So knowing that and seeing that the game is still not out, I think the launch will be great.
Originally posted by zenzukan AOC !!!!!!!! hell yeah, i am sick of cartoon graphic, even if the game is good but whocares seeing those ugly dwarf midgets just make me sick, War is just like a piece of shit of WOW and btw War fanboy go to your gay forum and stop bitching around.
So much hatred. There are two reasons I think WAR is using cartoonish graphics. ...[/quote]
And you thought wrong on both counts. Go to the Games Workshop site and look at warhammer art. That is the inspiration for Warhammer Online graphics.
Originally posted by Fion WoW.. er WARs sound effects make my ears bleed. And besides, AoC is just far more complete, varied, polished and fun. That and Funcom rules.
I like AOC and while its not my game of choice Im still rooting for it because there needs to be more diversity in the mmo genre.
But when I read bullshit like the above quote, I have to say something ....Far more complete and polished?

Wheres AOC playable demo that everyone in the industry keeps raving about?
I agree with Fion, after sitting down and looking at them both for quite some time I was originally biased toward WAR because I just finished playing WoW after two years and I assumed it would be easier for me to get into.
After sitting down and reading countless numbers of arcticles and frequenting so many forums, along with watching all the released videos, Age of Conan just seems like a better game, which is more for me. I do not mind taking that learning period to learn how to play Conan compared to just jumping into WAR, when Conan just seems that much better for me. Again though, this is all just opinion and some of you need to learn that an opinion is not a fact, nor should my opinion change how you decide which game you will play.
I'm sure WAR will be very successful. Probably more successful then AoC because of it's followers from WARHAMMER AND DAOC.
FIXED
What? Do you really think that people originally from WOW won't be migrating to Warhammer Online? Are you really that naive? Or can you just not stand anyone pointing out the connection between the two games.

WAR uses the same old point and click system we have seen a thousand times. Those type of games are just no fun for me anymore, and I see no point in paying a monthly fee for one when GW is free. This is the main reason why I would go for AoC in that it at least is trying something different on a fundamental level.
I would however like to see how the whole city building and formation stuff pans out before I really get onboard.
if you liked wow go warhammer if you hated wow go age of conan
That is sort of odd. I enjoyed WoW for the two and a half years I played it but I am highly interested in Age of Conan for the new quests they can do, the graphics, and the gameplay. Warhammer to me, more or less, looks to be the same old same old, especially when it comes to pvp. I watched a video of a shaman in Warhammer in "pvp" and he just kept casting some green spell over and over and over.
They both interest me but I will wait till I have a chance to try them both or failing that when the NDA's are gone and we can read what the beta testers have to say.
But since I was a huge fan of DAOC back in the day Im leaning towards WAR. But hey Conan is Conan .
DOAC is still the MMO I judge other games by, My first and still my favorite.

I will play both WAR and AOC. Been watching AoC since if was first announced. I think both will do very well in the market and as players, we should be happy so many interesting titles are coming out in the next year or so.
AoC has some possible pluses, it may be a break through for the console mmo market. Also, M$ is expected to showcase this game which may help quite a bit. Free Advertising!
