Oh I can't say wich class is going to be the most popular, but I do know that I will be playing either as a Witch hunter or a Chaos Chosen. I get slighly puzzled when I look at their oficial website and when you try to check out the class options, all I get is a picture of Chaos Chosen, same hoes for the Witch hunter. So at first I thought you coulden't select either of them but I belive I have it sorted out by reading your comments. Obviously, I like the details on the Witch Hunter, he reminds me slightly of Van Helsing (dunno how that movie spells), but I'm also very fund of big armors. I like the sight of a trash can running around bashing the living c*ap out of everything that comes in his path. I could also (not that you actually care but now im getting carried away, and I like it !!) chose the Dwarfen Ironbreaker. If that's not a trash can on wheels then I don't know what is! Amagad, give me this game now or I'll burst!!

Soz for duble post but I just need to ask; can enyone send a link to a place where they actually show the info about Witch Hunter and ie. Chosen? As I said before, the only thing it shows is a pic of 'em on their website. Or maybe there simply issen't no info to get on these classes just yet?

    thnx, MoNu

Each month, they highlight two classes in the newsletter and update their respective info pages.  They haven't gotten to the Witch Hunter or the Chosen yet.  Most of our information of the Witch Hunter comes from interviews at game sites, as well as this video with Paul Barnett:

Paul Barnett talks about the Witch Hunter

And the hat!  Don't forget the hat!

    Seriously.

Gotta say after seeing the new Sigmar battle priest video today, I'm going for my first healer in a long time. WOW's priests were just too hard to level and the GW monk is fun but a total buffbot. I've been dying for the chance to play an old fashioned "clad in armor, smack em in the head with a giant hammer" cleric for a long time now.

Thanks for the info bro, appreciate it !

Chosen or Marauder. i like it "Big-Bad-Evil"

reminds me of the old days when you spend hours converting the tabletop armies

I was curious as to how Mythic is choosing their classes, so I hopped on over to GW:

    - As far as Empire is concerned, I could only find the Warrior Priest as an actual Warhammer miniature. Now obviously, Witch Hunters come from that universe and they have Mordheim miniatures, but those Knights of the Blazing Sun I can't find anywhere O.o Bright Wizards are from waaaaay back in the classic miniatures when they had all the Colleges of Magic together.

    - Chaos does a little better. The Lord of Tzeentch model is actually the Magus. I wish they had gave us the Sorceror instead. Cool, tiny dude with a wicked staff. Anyways, there are actual Marauder models of course, and the Chosen is probably just one of the Knights of Chaos. I can't remember where I've seen Zealots but pretty sure they're in there somewhere, probably classic.

    - Dwarfs go like so; you can find minis of ALL their classes. Granted some things are different (ie. Runelord, Master Engineer) but over all, faithful as can be.

    - I was Crushed when I found out that my beloved unit of the Greenskins would not be included in this game. You know what I'm talking about. Those short guys in black robes who get hopped up on mushrooms and swing chains around that have giant metal balls on the end of them? Sigh. Anywho, same as da stuntiez go for da boyz. They all have a mini.

Speculation time, High Elves and Dak Elves.

-High Elves. Obviously will have a Mage.-Ranged DPS. Next I assume will be something along the lines of the Phoenix Guard- Tanker. Either way, I hope they put those bad ass spears into teh game. HOPEFULLY they will choose the  Shadow Warrior to be Melee DPS. If not, then I have no idea. And the Healer will be... hmm, same thing, no idea. I mean elves are about healing right, but what Elf unit heals in the Warhammer universe?

    - And finally, my favorite, the Dark Elves. I PRAY TO GOD that the Tanker will be the Corsair. They look so freakin cool! Strong feeling that there are going to be Wyches(duh, the trailer) but hopefully not. Would like to see the Assassin be the Melee DPS, but it might actually be the Beast Master. Another pet class. Um, the Sorceress I guess for Ranged DPS. That's what I got

Hope you enjoyed finding out some new things and thanks for sitting through my rant. Me? Bored? Never.

Oh yeah, I'll prob play a Dark Elf

Well they are not trying to go by exactly the tabletop figures and classes.

They have repeatedly stated they are going for ICONIC classes and feels.

With the empire everything is over the top, so they did not use regular knights, they created knights of the blazing sun, they took a traditional knight and made him empire style, a normal knight would just take care of his/her appearance to inspire those in the region. But we are talking empire here so a knights armor could not just glint in the sunlight, his armor has to be AS bright as the sun itself, they are Empire, they must go completely overboard. Its iconic and feels right for an empire knight. Same for Chaos they wanted the feel of the table top game, and character classes that represented that feel in the best way possible.

So what's Iconic about the High Elves and Dark Elves? I mean, for High Elves I can only think Spearmen and Mages, and for Dark Elves, Wyches.

I belive that there is going to be another pet class, maybe on the elves because pet classes will be needed on both sides (just for balance) or we will see an overwhelming swarm of WoW players arriving and rolling squig herder to the point that every dwarf, will reroll to get away from masses of squigs, then the balance of the game will go to pot, i won't say what class i will pick yet but i have to say that SH is looking very nice and so is shaman, (i love orks/greenskins and have been one in every mmo fanatasy i have played). i will hold back deciding till i have seen what the elves/dark elves will be comprised of, but reading thru this thread the top classes so far are going to be

    1. witch hunter

    2. Squiggy

    3. warrior priest

we can only speculate at this point and i do hope that they do make another pet class (even if the elves get summoned elementals or something) so the greenskins dont get too overwhelming
  • Trick5terTrick5ter Member Posts: 22
See, I was thinking that. And the Bestiary DOES have Giant Eagles, but only the Wood Elves tame those. The High Elves don't have tame anything.

Ok, I take that back. They do ma,e High Elf Great Eagles so yeah, that'll be the pet class if that's the case. Weird though, besides that, no other option. Maybe it'll only be available to Destruction?
  • adders666adders666 Member Posts: 259
here is hoping that either the squig herder is not too good then or the elves get their giant eagles, becuase it could be the class that totally unbalances the game, if only destruction gets a pet class it wont only bring the wow players to greenskins it will also being the rangers/mages from EQ ect.
  • AreelAreel Member Posts: 285

On the Squig Herder, I get the impression that the Squigs aren't really all that powerful individually.  Unlike the Hunter pets in WoW, the Squigs will probably be about numbers, not strength.

    Seriously.

The way they write about the classes makes them pretty interesting what I would probably have on my account is

Choppa, just sounds so fun and silly

    Hammer, also sounds nice

.... guess I just like idea of building up power the longer I fight.

Magus also is appealing, thinking person character.

    -faith chooses no man

  • MoNuMeNMoNuMeN Member Posts: 104

I've made up my mind. Regardless of what new classes they throw in, im going for a Chaos Chosen. The pic I see of them just seems so nice. I've always wanted a 'warrior' class but the Warriors in ie. WoW was in my opinion so darn boring to play that I've never gotten around to make one. Chosen will be the shajt. Empire, obey or die!

  • KlatuKlatu Member Posts: 6

With the elf classes yet to be revealed, I think the squig herder and witch hunter are the two most popular right now.  I will be playing the dwarf engineer first, with the goblin shaman a close second.

    squig herder here!
