I really want this game, but I want it for the 360. I don't have a problem though to buy it for PC and pay monthly for that until the 360 version comes out. What I am wondering is: Can I use the same account I used for the PC for the 360? Or can i switch my chars over to a 360 account? if so will it be costly?
We quite simply don't know yet, but I would bet that there will be some way to transfer and/or play on both systems.

We definitely have to wait and see but considering you have to have Live!-Gold edition to play against other platforms, it sounds like they (Microsoft anyway) are differentiating the accounts to some extent and that could make it tricky.
Well in the very least you'll have to pay for the software twice. They haven't officially announced whether there will be joint servers, though I think they are building the game so that there would not be a technical reason to not have a joint server. My hopes are that there will be at least a few of each variety: PC only, 360 only, PC/360 joint server.
I hope they will be sharing the same servers. I don't think Live should be a problem considering FFXI is available on the PC and the 360.
Hey! Don't forget the PS2! It was on that before the 360.

I mean that, by default, MS is already putting an artifical divide between the two platforms (xbox360 and PC) and intend to charge people if they want to play against the other platform (Live! Gold for 49.99 versus the free silver version). So, my concern is that MS may simply turn around and say, not only do you have to buy separate software but also maintain separate accounts (which would stink and I hope isn't the case.)
All I can do is suggest you read the forums to clear things up like this.
That's a pretty ambiguous response...Is that directed at me or in general? Are you suggesting an amswer is out there but aren't sharing a link? Not trying to be combative but, like I said, that's an ambiguous response.

Actually I doubt that the server you start on with your PC character will also have 360 players for one major reason. The 360 version is coming out about a year later. The servers introduced with the initial game will already be settled, have a solid population and it's players will already be a year ahead of the console players. Opening the server up to several thousand new players would put undo stress on the entire thing.
I think the much more likely scenario is that when the 360 version comes out, there will be all new servers added for them. If the two can play together (which right now is up in the air) I'd expect to see several 'PC & 360' servers come online as well as some '360 only' servers and the pre-existing PC only servers.
That said, most MMOG's that have been settled for a year or so have some form of character transfer. Your question is likely one a lot of 360 players will pose and I'd like to think that a system to allow this will be instated, but we cant say sure until we hear it out of Funcom's mouth.
Okay, this game was originally slated for this spring, and has been delayed until October, which gives the develpement team some extra time to finish everything up. With the extra time I HIGHLY DOUBT that the 360 version will launch an entire year later! That makes no sense. My bet is that it will launch 3-6 months after the PC version, especially considering funcom already bought themselves extra time with the delay. Do you have any proof from funcom that this game will launch on 360 one year later?

That way, everybody wins!

No it was not directed toward you.
