  heres something: gw2 is not guild wars eye of the north. EON(eye of the north) is an expansion(not a new campaign) for guild wars 1(you need either prophecies, nightfall, or factions to play it.) GW2 will be a standalone version.

  ...There are 3 threads that that talk about GW2 on the very first page (along with 2 more in general-mmorpg section). Kind of meaningless to start a topic more without even checking what topics there are in the first place.

  GW Eye of the North will be an expansion to Guild wars Prophecies, Nightfall and Factions, you will not be able to play EotN without any of those original games. GW2 will be a stand alone game which will not introduce any new classes, but new playable reaces will be introduced with a race-wars type of thing.
