Need a game like classic EQ.

EQ was the first mmo i ever played and i loved it. I stopped playing it about 2ish years ago, been looking for a mmo like the good classic EQ days but cant find one that I like. Anyone have any ideas plz? new or old, don't really mind about the graphics just good game play.

Play Vanguard. It's much like a mix of Eq1 and WoW. Most gameplay styles and general culture is Eq1 is...while questing system and UI is WoW like.

Well last time i tried the only low lvls that were in my grouping range were all mauls sitting afk in the bazaar selling there mains goodies. Why not play the chars I already got? well my items all old and useless in the new zones if i even knew where they are, all the zones I know all empty due to better places in the new expantions to go.

It has a lot of rvr (realm vs realm) so its fun and the pve is not 1/2 bad is ya stay out of instance dungeons (they are quick exp and $$ however).
Id say try SWg but its so bad now i wish everyoen had played it right before Combat Upgrade (-100000) was a great game, despite is shaky start.

Try eve if you have not , it is not similar to EQ at all but the game is fun and if you like it you'll stay forever

Ok that link may not work just google eve trial (first option in like a bluish hue).
The hint to eve is two things ps, start out makign you character all space flying abilities (race ship skill and command) get int and memory off the bat for stats (it lets you learn learning skills faster). Be Caldari, Gallente, or Amarr , the reason for thsi is that Cal and Am require the least amont of skills to effectivly fly the ships , gall is not bad. However, Mins take ALOT of skills.
Here is a break down:
Amarr, require you to skill up armor related skills and lazar related skills. x2
Cali requires you to skill up shield skills and missle skills. x2
Gall requires you to train up hybrid gun skills and armor and drones (not all ship have drones but alot do) x3
Mins require you to level EVERYTHING (well almost missle , projectile guns, drons shield and armor) x5
Later on Gallente use of drones is very nice, you have similar armor and fire power from guns as Amarr but a ton of drones too , which is nice
Cal is nice until BS , while there BS are fine i just feel BS tankign w/ armor is better, however , I love missles and shield tanks so i switched to cali from min and almost have BS and i plan on staying cal.
Mins ships are FAST and versital , but require alot of time to skill them
Amarr ships are like bricks they tank great , but i rather dislike them otherwise.

If you have a system older than 6 months, I would heavily recommend against Vanguard. That game just has too many problems with it right now.
Have you tried DaoC? Its a bit old school but very similiar to EQ
