Yes, it is free. It runs on an item mall business model. So start playing!
SRO is free and runs on an item mall system, as the guy before me said...But, it's really not worth it. I somehow got my way to max level in years lol..Trust me, when you're max level, you'll realize how much time you've wasted on this game. Horrible grind and extremely stupid quests. Only two model of quests..
1. Kill 1,000,000,000,000......[you get the point] monsters.
1.Collect 1, 000, 000, 000, 000...[you get the point] somethings from monsters.
Horribly boring time waster. At max level, I did a quest, right before I quit, and it made me kill over 50, 000 monsters...
You can guess I ditched the whole thing without finishing the quest.

Which quest made you do over 50,000 kills? Because I don't ever recall any quest listing for SRO mentioning that many. I've seen 1700, but over 50,000 is just ridiculous exaggeration.
I agree, the quest format for this game is severely limited and repetitive, but if you're gonna bash the game, at least be honest.
The "Fallen King" quest....i'm being honest...it's a staff-only SRO quest..and i was counted as that since i did some graphics for them a long time ago..I'm not even kidding..that quest was so boring..didn't even finish it..for normal players though, i think max limit for a quest is like 2,500 or 3,000 monsters...but who the f...wants to grind 3k kills?

Not sure why there are staff-only quests, but if you say there is... Maybe new and experimental quests are reserved for staff to test, and decide whether to release it? I'm just guessing at this point.
Believe it or not, grinding appeals to some players. I particularly like some grind, but only to a point. Perhaps I'll be quitting when the number of kills gets too high for my short attention span LOL.
