Ya know, everytime I mention I still play UO people mock and make comments like, "that game is so old", "those graphics suck" blah blah blah....To me, I'd take the plain jane 2d Uo graphics any day. You can actually see what's going on around you....especially behind you. It't easy to navigate around the terrain, character appearance is vastly supperior to most games (dyable clothing/metal colors) Anyway just my 2cents
the new rule about no houserunning that is poor and server lines are the badest thing in the game and then uo3d ROFL that must be a joke... rest of game seems ok, aos have not really anything to do whit old uo its like a new game and i allso think it was the point of the expansion. oh and one more thing.. i don't like is there going to be samurai/ninja's in the game its too uorginal for me.
You are insane right? UO has worst graphics than most Super Nintendo games did, and that in and of itself is just SAD seeing computer games were coming out with much more uber graphics even at the time UO was coming out.
Dude you should list stuff you actually liked about UO. It would be a much shorter list, and you really should think about adding OSI to that list. OSI is the worst company I have ever dealt with when it comes to MMORPGs and I will never buy another EA or OSI product as long as they remain a company.
I played UO for about 3 years on Drachenfels. I left when my account was hacked, about 6 other players were also hacked on the same weekend. Support refused to help in any way. My GM characters were deleted and house stolen. One of the USA players traced the IP used to Russia. All we wanted was our GM characters restored, naked, in the middle of Brittania. UO support did nothing. I did not have the heart to start again, my guild mates were great and offered me gold and free houses, but due to such poor support I quit.
I enjoyed most things with UO, I hated my miner being PKed. He used to mine naked with 3 pickaxes and I could never understand why anyone would kill for a worn pickaxe and a bag of ore . The other things I did not like was the twigs in Fel that would stop a horse and the daft AI of pets that managed to get stuck behind every item.
I have played several MMORPG's since but I find it hard to beat the craft system, storage and the ease of transferring items between charters on same account that UO has.
Ehh... the only issues I've noticed thus far is that the advancement system is pretty much nothing more than a pain in the behind. Is there actually a real point to it or is it just there to test how much crap you can take before you're ready to quit?
Not that the game is horrific but frankly the game has some issues that need to be fixed imo, but then that's because I've only played ShadowBane, StarCraft, and WarCraft III so atm I'm sort of in the dark as to why the world I'd want this insanely long threadmill to finally be ready to take on even the equivalent of level 2 monsters.
Maybe I haven't played this long enough but does it get any better at higher level?

Call me a sissy carebear but the only think I disagree with all but the armor thing needs balanced out. Quit complaining baout newbies they can't help it, so shut up about newbies, trammel is better then fellucea becaause you don't have toworry about mine pks. Personally griefers and pks shut up the rest of the shard hates you. There is a bigger majority of non pks then pks. Your just mad about trammel because fo the lack of victems!

UO was a great game, i was a legendary tamer on the Baja shard for 3 years. i agree with the wave of newbie mage tamers, they pissedme off when they would all camp the great heart spawn in Ish. and the money that we were charged, and the service we got sucked (more money less tech support) UO was fun untill the value of gold dropped, all the vetran players remember when 1 mil was somthing to talk about? i also liked the old Fel where there was only Fel, you actuly had to stay in groups so you wouldent get ganked hunting WW's

And maybe trammel to some point, I believe that duplicating Britania like that was kinda too simplistic.
You hate plants and that people can create their own custom house? I cant see how that is effecting your game style.
